You must have got a close out price on the surge, mine have always been about 10 bucks higher than the waves.
I surmise that there is less demand for the Surge because it's too large for the casual multi-tool carrier. The Wave sports a much more appealing form factor. I think the reason for the Surge close-outs was a lack of demand, if they were selling in sufficient number those retailers that discontinued them would still be carrying them.

There all getting up there in price it seems from local retailers up here. I was just in shop and saw a TTi at $160 cdn, and an ALX for $145.

I can pick oneup for about $52 plus shipping.
