Benner locked the thread before I got a chance to reply....so here goes before this gets me in trouble

To answer Jimguy...

NO YOU DID NOT AND NO I DID NOT

You sent me a picture showing proof of postage......

I quote an email you sent me on the 17th

"Nick I sent the attwoods the post office said that they cant put a tracking number on international orders"

So you stated that insurance was not an option....now you say they are.

Mate, you are pushing the wrong buttons here....I suggest you stop and get your facts straight.

As long as I get you part of the trade, you will get mine.

If this trade goes well then so be it.....failing that, Jim guy needs to learn patience and listen to the requests of the fellow forumite.

No....you raised it online in a public place and I recognise accusation when I see it.

I did not ask for proof of postage (it could be confetti for all I know)

I asked for insurance and tracking.

I think this boils down to a misunderstanding.  PO's do sort of track packages via the customs form, but its not the best system.  Thats where registered (recorded) mail comes into play.  By sending it this way the end user (Flash) has a record of every stop that parcel made along the way and who signed for it.  Its usually pretty pricey (at least in the states), but it is a very sound method of shipping.  Sending priority flat rate, with insurance and registered mail, could be quite pricey, but that is the cost of the deal if you want to make it.  Its the holiday season, nerves are on edge, lets sit back and and keep it civil. You have a problem take it to PM's.  If it doesn't get resolved that way then bring it here, or get a mod involved.

No characters were suffering and that's why I ended it there.  Things should have been discussed in private, questions between you two asked and answered in there and then if there was someone at fault bad feedback could have been left if necessary.  Trades on MTO are the responsibility of the members themselves and not the forum or the forum staff so I saw no need to discuss between yourselves this trade out in public.
I'm back!!

Flash, your character is safe.  I think we can all see that this is a misunderstanding.  You'll get your Atwoods, I've done many trades with Jim, and he's stand up.  Just like I have traded with you and you are stand up.

Im sure flash is a stand up guy thats why I sent the atwoods with no proof of shipment on his end. Id never screw any one over on a deal, ask zack or gadget guy about any of our trades before. Im sorry this happened this way, but Ive asked for my account to be deleted, I will no longer be trading on here. I dont want one deal making me look like LM123.

Jim - I think you've misunderstood mate. It isn't you that Flash doesn't trust - it's the postal system.

I know Nick pretty well, and he's not accusing you of anything. Don't go doing anything rash, there's no need :)

Today has been a big day for multitool.org, let's all get back to enjoying it, eh?

:tu: The postal system sux on both ends, one of my packages got lost by the post office twice and the item arrived only on the third time (remember Flash?), international shipment can be 10 times worse. Flash your rep here is great, and I can vouch for you anytime  :salute:. Flash and Jim guy hope this gets resolved fast, and Jim guy hope you stay here with us on the forum.

allright its been a day or so now my hot irish temper has settled. Flash, sorry about what happened your atwoods will be there, the po told me that a mailing certificate was the only thing they could do as far as a tracking # goes. I dont know first time for me sending overseas, probably first time for the po in this dirt water town i live in! As long as they dont get lost/stolen you will get them, i would never cheat anyone.

Good to have you back Jim- and one note, I find tracking numbers are a waste of time on international parcels.  Each PO uses their own tracking system, so when something goes from USPS to another service, the number gets changed and it's not cross referenced, or at least not in any useful manner.  Then, by the time the recipient contacts their PO and finds someone motivated enough to actually track down the package, 9 out of 10 times, it's already arrived.

Of course you have to stick with the terms of any deal you make with someone, but if tracking costs extra, I usually find it's not worth it.  That is just my opinion though, your mileage may vary!

Yeah, it's a bit unpredictable the way the tracking works.

I think the idea with USPS is that once it leaves the US, the tracking number should work (for example) on the Royal Mail's track and trace systems, and vice versa.

It seems a bit hit and miss though.
I used to come here a lot.

I have had no luck with USPO tracking. Usually the only info i get from them is a email saying i received a package about two hours after i have already received it.  ???
