Hey does anybody else here like or collect Hen and Rooster knives?  I have a few I think they are great knives and was wondering what you guys thought about them :tu: My Dad has quite a few so I have acquired some myself over the years just wanting to know of the opinion of the forum on them

I don't own any, but since I have been pretty heavy on slippies I think it's only a matter of time before I pick one up.

Well with my experience of them I don't believe whatever model or blade steel ( carbon vs SS) you will be disappointed :tu:

My dad was telling me this morning that he was watching a knife show last night on satellite and saw some H&R knives and said he thought they were good but I didn't own any. I mentioned that us folks were talking about them on here and I would let him know how it turned out.

It wasn't SMKW's "Knives Live" as they only air on Monday and Friday nights.....it was most likely "Cutlery Corner" which is a Frost Cutlery show. The very company that actually owns the Hen & Rooster brand.

As to the knives themselves, their slipjoints are pretty good, but generally overpriced for bone or Corolon scaled slips. If interested I'd say get some but look for better pricing like on Ebay or when there are on-line sales. Occassionally you get some decent pricing on the "Knives Live" show as well as "Cutlery Corner" but often times their prices are a bit insane.

I never knew when they aired thanks for that  I agree a few models are a bit high like the Mother of pearl and the Deer Stag but the majority of my bone (not stag) knives and some of the other handle materials from them were in the $30-$50 range which isn't bad compared to alot of brands :) I lean more towards the carbon H&R for pocket carry but I am more of a fan of carbon in that type of knife anyways :tu:

Poncho,

Yeah, in the $30-$50 range is pretty good pricing for fullsize patterns in bone or Corolon. Can't go wrong there.

That is the prices at the SMKW store in Servierville I guess I thought they were that price everywhere as they seem a bit high on other things there :D
