You know of any surplus store?
on: December 25, 2009, 02:48:31 PM
Anyone know of a good surplus store? I am looking for ACU BDU’s pants and some nice tactical pants and perhaps something other cool stuff, they cost an arm and a leg over here and don’t feel that it is worth paying 150$ for a pair of pants

LAPG always have great prices on stuff, but you'll have to get a friendly US member to ship the order for you.

I have some tactical operator pants which were reduced to $14.99.... silly money!  :D

I think Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

There's one a few blocks away from me.  They aren't much good, but they make up for it by being riotously expensive...

The surplus trade seems to be a dying one over here in the UK - which is a real shame.

There used to be a street in Birmingham, with about 10 army surplus shops all next door to each other when I was a kid, and I mean real army surplus, not the faux-surplus shops that seem to still be around. I remember getting a British RAF Great-coat for a pittance when I was about 16 / 17. We had to root through a big crate of them to find one that didn't have bullet-holes and stuff in it :D

The old East German camo gear was great for playing paintball in, so thick and padded you couldn't feel a thing when shot or jumping through hedges etc. :D

We have a camping / outdoors shop near us now in Burton On Trent, and he has a room dedicated to army surplus, and he gets some great stuff, but not on the scale you used to see.

Shame really.

I found a couple of websites that seem to get true surplus stuff in the UK, but I doubt you'll get the ACU stuff from them Medic.
I used to come here a lot.

Dave, there's still T.K. Ryders near Harborne but you probably know it already!
 (and it's silly prices)

I miss that little one on Broad St - it was a little Aladdin's cave of fab army stuff  :(

There used to be one just off the Stourbridge ring road too but I have no idea if it's still there.

I believe there's one near Kidderminster Station too,

That's my midlands update  :D

Since the US (as far as I know) is the only country that uses ACU I would think that it’s the only country where you will find it at a reasonable price. I have a store in Norway that sells ACU gear but it costs a small fortune compared to the prices in US

Where I was thinking of has all been levelled to build the Bullring - down by St. Martins church and the rag market. The shops were gone long before the buildings though.

Kidderminster? A bit far south for me that :D

Does anyone know if there are any other companies than Propper https://www.epropper.com/index.php that makes the uniforms for the US military? I am looking for ACU pants and when I first buy them I want them to be the real deal.
