New Nite Ize Products
on: January 07, 2010, 06:28:49 PM
Some new Nite Ize Products due in March 2010 for those interested  :D

http://niteize.myshopify.com/collections/new-products

The key rack looks interesting but possibly to big to be practical

This new S-biner hopefully will be tighter than the current offering

Coincidentally, I will be talking to a Nite Ize retailer, and owner of www.mypockits.com at SHOT in just over a week, and one of the things we'll be looking at is some Multitool.org bits and pieces!

I will have to ask him about some of this stuff!

Oooh, I love those itty bitty ones for keys!  I'm getting some whenever I find them.  Those would be perfect for me!  Thanks for the pics!

I'm liking that clip! A more sizable solution to the universal gun clip I think.

Some really cool stuff in there. If it weren't so bulky I could almost see the eCLIPse as an alternative to the Quickdraw clip. The keyrack looks promising, but honestly it may be too big to be able to pocket very well. The ZipLit could be handy, though I'd be a little worried about that battery cover coming off seeing as it looks like you have to partially unscrew it to turn off the light. The KnotBone adjustable bungie is pretty damn ingenious. If it works as well as it looks it could be a pretty big product for them.

But what is really giving me ideas is that Tool Holster Stretch. They show it holding a larger SAK quite nicely, and that hidden pocket in the back of it looks like a dandy place to stick a Pocketwrench....

And I am so gonna have to get me a Curveyman. Been struggling to find a decent way to carry my earbuds. Throwing them on your keychain? Freakin' brilliant.

Dealextreme has some cheaper earbud cord wraps for awhile, I've been meaning to pick up the fishbone type ones but keep forgetting.

Really? Haven't seen 'em. I'll have to head over there and take a gander.

Edit: Ah I see 'em. Honestly I like the nite ize ones better. The DX ones look a bit bulky and uncomfortable for pocket carry. And besides, they're missing the all important keychain carry functionality. That's what I'm most attracted to.

Ah, yeah, didn't realize none of them had attachment points. Though I'm not sure I'd put my earbuds on any keychain as I'd have other stuff banging into them all the time.

Yeah, but earbuds are cheap and the way mine get crammed in my pocket now really isn't any better.

No, but then even the "good" earbuds are still total crap as far as I'm concerned. I'll take a good set of full circumnaural headphones any day. You won't see me with a set of headphones that cost less than $100. Earbuds are just an easily portable substitute for sticking into my phone when I want some tunes sitting in the doctors waiting room or whatever. If it's going to sound like complete ass or maybe slightly better than complete ass for "good expensive"ones, I'd rather just get the cheap ones that are easy to replace when hauling them around all the time finally breaks 'em. Cheap earbuds are good for carrying around, when I want good sound I'll lug my Sennheisers around.

I'd agree, but I do like having bass so... my earbuds usually run me around $40.

See for portable cheapness I really don't care. A) I don't find a lot of bass to be important, but then we probably listen to different music. B) I use the earbuds for my phone. It doesn't really kick out the best sound to begin with and as a result $40 earbuds won't sound much different than $4 earbuds. When I want good sound I use good headphones in my laptop or whatever. For on the go listening I don't really care much.

I'm liking the idea of that Curvyman thing, in fact I just ordered one. I've been struggling to find a way of carrying my iPhone headset since I got it, and this has got to be worth a go/ I will report back when it arrives  :salute:

Can't wait to hear (read) your thoughts on it Dave.  I'm rather intrigued myself.  I figured out how to wrap mine around a 2 inch S-biner to keep them from tangling but I'd be willing to try the Curvyman.  I don't use ear buds though.  Since I use my ear phones at the gym or when I ride, I've got the kind that fit like a bluetooth headset...over and behind the ear.  I forget what brand...Sony I think.  They are the best ear phones I've ever had.
