Freaky films
on: January 15, 2010, 11:00:35 PM
I did a thread similar to this a while back, but as we have a huge amount of different members now I thought I'd ask again.

For years now I have tried to find a scary film as I love horror but have never been frightened by one.  I think this came from watching films that I shouldn't have done at a stupidly young age and I have now become immune to it all.  :(

So what films do you guys get scared by and recommend?

I'm back!!

I'm a bit of a sicko, so the more gore the better.  :D

Lob in a few zombies, some naked ladies and a corny catchphrase and you have the basis of a great movie.  :D

How about Poltergeist?  A little dated now (OK very dated) but it scared the living s**t out of me when I first saw it.

I hear Paranormal Activity is scary.

I don't watch any of them. Hits a bit too close to my childhood experiences.
A little Leatherman information.

Funny thing about horror films. I really am into haunted houses and Home haunts. I have run both now going on 7 seasons, but Cannot stomach horror films. They really do bug me. I can scare the crap out of people and be scared to the point of anxiety attacks in a great haunt but movies, well they just really freak me out.

the original "the eye"
no, please not Paranormal Activity... another Blair Witch Projects... it works once.
the first "Evil dead" is scarier when NOTHING happens than when actually there's blood.

uh, I've a big collection :) and usually lesser the blood, bigger the fear.

Couple more....

The first Halloween movie was tense as hell... quite a classic really.

Nightmare on Elm St had my attention too. Not sure about the many sequels though  :-\

I think it depends on what spooks you, me its paranormal stuff, and things with demons etc, anything with a bit of demonic possession does me, the excorsist still does it for me, i like paranormal activity much better the the blair witch , the entity was a classic, but i like most horrors ,zombie wise dawn of the dead is a classic Romero, and love the shining ,  :tu:  >:D
