Why can't I find girls like this?

I agree with you guys totally that it shouldn't matter but unfortunately it does in alot of
jobs appearance is important not that we need raving visual beauty but she's limited herself
because of her appearance, sadly.

Why sadly, because she doesn't wanna deal with a crappy CS job or work in a bank or office setting? Screw that, I'd be much more happy in her kind of job or doing something a little different.

When I was gonna work as a government contractor after I left the military, tattoos and stuff didn't matter, as long as you can do your job.

I think until you get to the VP jobs, office settings and stuff like that, it doesn't matter. I work in an office(slacks and dress shirts every day except Friday) and my boss has tattoos that she doesn't hide and I don't my few.

Yes, she may be limited from a few job positions, but sadly is not a word I would use at all.

It is indeed her body, her choice, and also I think in this case it's helping her career.  How many folks work at that company and yet we aren't plastering their pictures all over the forum?  Yet, here she is, quite reasonably attractive, and has numerous comments about her.

Personally I think ink can look good and it can look bad.  Hers seems to be done well (I'm not a tat enthusiast, but I know what I like!) and look good on her, and I think that's the bottom line.  If you are going to do it, do it well.  Sadly yes, it can limit her career choices, but she seems to be doing well enough where she is, otherwise, how would you know who she was?  Yeah, she'll probably never work in the front office, but I think when you get a female machinist (and maybe I'm getting sexist here- if I offend, I'm sorry!) that almost seems to be the "uniform" for the job.  After all, look at Scottie from Mythbusters:



Still, as nice as I find both of these women to look at, I think I'd have a bit of a problem taking them home to meet my Mom, as I'd hate to accelerate my inheritance!

It's not that bad..   My wife still smokes a couple of cigarettes a day, eventhough I stopped 6 months ago and we're still doing fine..  
And for the tattoos I respect personal choices, it's just a little overdone with the 'hands and neck part' for my liking...

I only got one tattoo and it's not seen unless I want it to be. That's my philosophy, do it Yakuza style, their tattoos are always covered unless they want someone to see them (other Yakuzas)

Yeah, with all the tats, stretched ears, etc., I can take all that except the smoking, it is a turn off.

Girls looking for jobs in certain areas (ie, machine operating and weapons design/manufacture) might be more testosteroney independent types, and this might overlap with some overt behaviours, like some types of body-modding.


Also, as Def said, great for marketing! (unlike her colleague, the fatbeard in a greasy boilersuit who doesn't get invited to quite so many product shows)

I have tattoos and piercings, and also consider myself a professional and have had both CS and office jobs.
It may or may not make a difference to your reasoning that I'm male, but either way, I find the expectation with body-modding, or any other interest be it chess or tai-chi and what sort of job a person should have a little weird.



Back to talking about the girl - for my money she knows she's all different and cool and out there, with her skull t-shirts and casual fag under the welding helm, and whatever else.
I'm aware that these may be very specifically publicity shots, but it still ruins it for me. Maybe when she's off work she'll be a bit more casual and attractive.

I also said "sadly", because it is unfair that someone's employment depends on the ink he or she has or has not on his arms, instead of his or her knowledge and skills.
I'm not sad for tattoos or piercings or BM, I just don't find them appealing when they are massive or extreme.
I'm still a bit old-fashioned, I think.

There's a whole subculture of society which is heavily adorned, and unless you are privy to it first hand (which, with respect, a lot of you obviously aren't) you only get to see the overspill in to mainstream like this lady in question.

Within that culture, there are a lot of very well paid people who make a great living from any number of jobs, not just as tattooists et al. The last party I went to involving pretty much exclusively heavily tattooed folks included people from every walk of life. You've probably met a load of people who have a load of ink under their suit and you would never know. It could be your boss - ever seen him/her naked? Probably not. Some of the hardest working high earners I know are tattoo artists, and I have nothing but respect for them. I know lawyers, doctors, shop workers, lecturers and idiots with tattoos - really no different to non-tattooed peeps.

As for this particular thread, I think the opinions would be extremely different if we were talking about a man eh? Whether you find someone attractive is of course purely subjective, and everyone has their own views on that. Personally, I have managed to acquaint myself with the company of some extremely attractive women who thought my tattoos were a great idea - never hurt me or my choices in life. I wouldn't want to be with someone who didn't think they were cool anyway... I like the lights on

I am of course an advocate for ink, having worked in a tattoo studio and been tattooed for nearly 20 years now. That said, there is a line you cross with hands, neck or face tattoos which does indeed mean that you are looked upon very differently by mainstream society. Most people who make that choice are well aware of it, and have no intention of being part of it anyway. I believe that is a failing of society as much as it is a choice made by those involved to opt out. We are a prejudiced species, constantly evaluating others on race, sexuality, gender and a whole host of other things. Adding a little colour to your skin doesn't really make that much difference in the scheme of things. For most inklings, is it a celebration of the art form and often a collection of sorts, not a way to make people hate you.

My next appointment with the needle is in a few weeks and I'm very excited about it
