I had the Double Duty for awhile, but gave it away. One point of interest is that even though it looks like a slip joint (a SAK is a slip joint), it's not a slip joint. The blade is held shut by a small ball bearing detent in the liner lock. This can make the blade "stick" at that point when using the thumb stud. You have to find the right thumb placement to use the thumb stud effectively. The back spacers are black plastic, not being a true slipjoint they are not back springs. So, not having any bearing on the walk and talk of the knife, being plastic is not an issue. Both blades share a common liner lock, both blades do have thumb studs and nail nicks. The blades are thin and make good slicers. The blade steel is AUS-6 which is ok for normal cutting chores. It's not horrible and the heat treat seemed to get decent performance out of the steel. The scales are what is known as red stamina wood, which I believe is simply a resin type material along with red dye impregnated into wood. They looked nice enough, but were a little on the slippery side of things if your hands were wet.
I cannot give this knife a "buy" recommendation. Simply because for the money, you can get a much better knife.

Common sense ..... so rare, it's virtually a super power.
