Another favorite knife
on: February 24, 2010, 05:01:00 PM
One of my choice knives in my modest collection is my Blackout.  Nice comfortable handle with a
pretty functional blade for slicing.  I quite like the looks of it too and that is a big part/reason to
carry.
One of the things that always bugged me about it though was the pocket clip.  It's a long 'un and
I personally found it to be uncomfortable the way it was shaped when handling the knife.
I decided last night I would do something about it and took about a 1/4 inch off the end
of it and finished/rounded it off a bit.  Here is the end result which might not be all that noticeable
visually but makes it a much more comfortable and a more of an edc for me.  :tu:

I am a fan as well.  It is a knife I find that has a great feel and weight to it and the speedsafe is superb. personally I really like the long clip.

Here is my Benner style Blackout pic...

I remember you had one Ben.   :tu:  Looks great.

Zack, funny how you remember those knives that started it all for you.  For me it
was the Delica basically.

Yeah I guess it was just the shape of my hand but where it flared out just bugged
me enough so I wasn't carrying it.  This little modification though is just about right
now.

It is indeed. I remember buying it new on eBay for 45.00, which was a lot for a college kid. The day I knew it was coming in I skipped my afternoon classes to wait for it. It was the sharpest knife I had ever handled and cut myself within 5mins of playing with it.
