Aren't buckeyballs one of the things that's supposed to lead to useable temp superconductors?

I have always been fascinated by them, but never got any of my own.

Every time I see them on thinkgeek.com I figure I should get them....

Mr. Whippy, you are correct.

They got the name from what scientist call large carbon clusters that form architectural structures very similar to what Buckminster Fuller was doing with buildings. I didn't know of the magnetic version though. I have a tone of round and ovoid magnets that I bought at the local dollar store for my classroom. So many things you can do and teach with magnets. :D

Closest I've got is a big box of Geomag.  Its pretty pricey and the cheaper alternatives are a bit naff magnetic strength wise, so I've been picking up small sets and bags of it at carboot sales for the last few years and hoarding it until my boys were old enough to use it safely.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Yes, don't want to go repeating the horror stories of kids swallowing the damn things and perforating their guts  :o

Personally I love all things magnet - they just fascinate me in a childlike fashoin :)
