Quote from: Gadget Guy on March 24, 2010, 09:07:00 PMI just paid the most I've ever paid for a custom knife. I sold a whole bunch of stuff and bought me a custom Emerson MV-4 Viper in mint condition. I know a bunch of you guys will think I'm out of my mind, but here is my new way of thinking. I would rather have one really nice knife than 10-12 $100 knives. I plan to make this knife my main edc for a long, long time. With all due respect, who the heck are you kidding?

I was thinking that too but kept my mouth shut! Quiet, you! You're ruining our chances of freebi-- Have some respect! So who's starting the poll for actual carry time?

Maybe I'm retarded , but Emerson's don't float my boat . With the exception of the Mini CQC7 ( waved ) . For that kinda bucks I'm more into Bob T. , or Rick Hinderer . Actually , I think I'm pretty much done with the Tacticool Genere . Chris
Would I spend $1000 on a knife? Of course I would if I had a spare $1000! Right now I wouldn't as having $1000 available to spend is a bit of a rare circumstance here, but when my kids leave home and pay their own way etc - why the hell not! You earned the cash GG, spend it on stuff you like whether it's "sensible" or not, I say.Gorgeous knife btw
I still like it, and if ya got it spend it. BUT if ya want a kid to waste money on...... I am available.
Just to add - many people wouldn't hesitate to spend that much on a wrist-watch or jewellery when there are cheaper alternatives available that would perform just as well. What's the difference, really?
thats the argument my materials teacher hashe went " i could buy a reggata coat of the same quality as a Berghaus one, the difference being that the regatta one will be good for one or two walking seasons and the Berghaus one will last me at least ten years'oh and by quality he means fit for purpose
Great looking blade GG,enjoy why you can,I've got scratches and ware marks all over my sebbie, and the more I use it,the more I like it. &
