I would say the Buck prince or squire. Good size, secure lock, and timeless design.

med/small SAKs to me are so common, so many are used to them, they win hands down!

Anything that looks like a regular "pocket knife".  Case knives, 58mm SAK's, even the 74 or 84.  I've gotten odd looks from the 91 mm, but I think that had more to do with the thickness (Explorer and Deluxe Tinker) than the blade.

Anything small, perhaps with a bit of colour on the handles, conventional looking blade.

Black (esp anodised blades), big and aggressive tanto/serrations are going to freak people more.

I whip our my 84mm (or a 58mm) SAK when I'm around those who are allergic to steel. My Dragonfly doesn't get much second looks at work, but since they are used to me having knives (been with them for 4 years now), a larger blade (Delica, Persistence, Salt I) gets unnoticed as well.

Got to be any red scaled 84, 85 or 91mm Vic or Wenger, though I've always had neutral reactions to my red scaled Farmer :)

The most friendly looking has to be a 58mm Vic or 65mm Wenger.  Just too small to look offensive in any way.  Going the other way a Swiss Champ; the blade just gets lost amongst all the other tools.  Almost any 91mm or smaller SAK will look less offensive than any other knife IMO.

In this case context is everything, nobody would bat an eyelid at a sparky or joiner at work with one, however a ned hanging out beside the chippy with a bottle of Buckfast and a Stanley knife would have any sane person crossing the road. :D

I've never gotten any stares with a Buck Metro LED or a SAK Alox Classic (58mm).  On the multitool side, a Leatherman Squirt or Micra is a good choice.

:D  I think colour certainly helps.  And as has been pointed out the wider SAKs tend to get more interest than recoil.  So what we need is a pink XAVT :P
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.
