LM bit driver

I knew this was going to happen, and it did  :D Recessed screws are the bane of the too short LM bit driver!!!!  >:( :D  I cut the grass today and needed to remove two recessed screws on the mower. Well lets say the bit driver on my Wave sucks BIG TIME. This really annoys me. So what do I do? Do I buy the bit extender OR just get a Spirit again? Thankyou  :tu:

ps. Disclaimer:- The opinions expressed here are the result of my findings and should NOT be interpreted as a generalisation  :D

Don't you have a Fuse Chris?  Hard to beat the driver on that.

Get the bit extender but that means you need extra space surrounding the screw due to the thickness (is that a word?) of the extender head.

But going to the nearest bar is always a good option as well  :drink:

I do indeed mate and I actually rate the Fuse highly. It's just I'm starting to wonder what the point of the new Wave is (for my needs anyway)

The pub is always a good way of solving such problems... :tu: :D

Seriously now, if the recessed screws don't have enough space around them for LM's bit driver system, they'll likely not have enough space around them for the extender either. If it's just a matter of depth, go with the extender. For a better all-around solution, go with the Spirit (oh Dave... :pok: :D) Or go down the dark alley and mod a long LM phillips into your Wave.

I hadn't thought of that. It's also another thing to lose.

I wonder what implements I might have to sacrifice

PS if you want it I have a spare Phillips driver from a Blast you can have. :)

I voted give up and go to the pub.  But, only to think heavily further on what to do.  After many beverages, the answer will come to you as if by magic.  Get the bit extender and the Spirit, is the answer you will come to know.
I've had many of these sticky brain burner choices in my life, and have finally come to realize the only answer is  "We must have both".

For your needs I don't know. But the mean reason for me is the OHO and closing blade and the all locking implements and the overall size/weight vs. implement thing. And eventho it didn't do much good for you, I like those drivers. The main advantage is that if you srew a bit up (or need another kind), it's easily replaced.

But did I mentioned that going to the nearest bar is always a good solution for everthing? Did I?  :D

Why get the Spirit ???  True the driver may reach, but it would just keep slipping out anyway.  :P

Just stating fact.   :D

On a serious note (yes I can be at times  :D), if I know I will need a phillips driver that day, I would never pocket a Swisstool of ever kind.  Now that isn't because their drivers are ridiculously slippy, but I find LM drivers to be just so much better.  That's why I voted for the extender over the Spirit option.
