on: May 02, 2010, 04:00:44 PM
i dont really know what im after  helpful i know

i was after a penlight but as long as it fits in a Maxpedition E.D.C. Pocket Organizer then i dont mind

id like a bright beast but want to keep it under £50

suggestions please  :D ive been looking at this http://www.heinnie.com/Flashlights/Nitecore/Nitecore-D20-Smart-PD/p-97-480-3378/ the night core defender and a few fenix lights

so a poke in the right direction would be nice as this will be my first real light

thanks

I recently got an ITP A3 EOS light  :tu:

For me it was just the very thing.
  • 1 AAA battery [Eneloop :tu:]
  • Small
  • 3 modes; 1.5 18 80 lumens
  • Orange peel reflector

Our US brethren have the Maratac AAA which extremely similiar but the ITP A3 is a worthy alternative  :tu:

You'll be looking for this then  :pok:

http://www.flashaholics.co.uk/olight/olight-sr90-intimidator.html

£315.95, 2200 lumens  :o :o :ahhh

I think rp252 has one http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,17672.0.html

Any light that calls itself the Intimidator is one to fear  :dwts:

Its a close quarters light rather than a thrower.  As Mike suggests the LD20 is a good 2AA light :tu:

They all do a similar job :)

Given your job, I'd be inclined to get one you can use hands free, and can dial the power down enough to actually read a manual with :)

To save repeating, I gave my thoughts on my favourite lights here: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,17312.msg328962.html#msg328962

I'd recommend any of these Ryan, depending on what you intend to use it for of course.
I used to come here a lot.
