From the scrap bucket
on: May 07, 2010, 07:35:16 PM
A while back I found a scrapyard that buy all the knives that they confiscate at Cape Town Airport, they dump everything in a bucket and sell it for next to nothing,I paid them a visit today and found some really nice stuff.

First up a single blade 84mm knife stamped Victoria with brass liners and exposed pins with a bail, I think this one is from the 40's and still in excellent condition.

an Alox Pocket Pal stamped Elinox no logo on it just this picture with Schwyz

and this Secretary

got some more stuff but will post it later

Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time

I wonder what was going through the mind of the previous owner of the 1940's Vic when faced with the requirement to dump it

Found these to

from left to right

a black scaled Executive still in excellent condition, a Director the scales are a bit worn but the tools are still new,a South African Army knife made by Aitor with the Nato numbers and a 1966 DAK made by Amefa.

and some more plain ones, they were so cheap it just didn't feel right to leave them in that bucket  :D

the last black one on the right is a Richartz
