Hey all, another quick maybe noob type question: is it normal for the pivots circled in my photo to rotate slightly when you are opening/closing the blade attached to it? It is much more pronounced on the pivot with the serrated blade attached but it does happen on both.

Also, is anyone else straight-edged blade ground as unevenly as mine? It’s hard to show on camera but in my photo I’m trying to line up the arrows with where the grind ends on the Swedge of the blade. In person it’s very apparent when u look at the blade from the top like in my photo.

No I have no movement on my pivots
when opening or closing the tools
I haven’t got the straight edge blade
on my Wave so I can’t check that for you
Hopefully someone else can answer that question for you  :tu:

Welcome ThePixelsEdge!
I also do not have pivot movement, and I would not say that there is significant uneveness on my blade grind as shown.

You can take out the pivot bolt, clean the threads well (I use either acetone/nail polish remover or alcohol), add a drop of blue locktite, reinstall the bolt and adjust the blade's movement to your liking; that should fix it.
To loosen the pivot's bolt, engage pliers mode, squeeze both handles (this is to prevent movement of the female end of the pivot) and loosen using a Safety Torx 10 (T10H); usually, the bolts are on the file and saw side. If you feel like you're applying much force, check the other end and see if they're not inverted. Good luck!

Edit- if you do not feel comfortable tinkering or mind waiting, you may send it to Leatherman for warranty service, as it is a relatively new model (Silver andBlack series I presume?); might take a couple of weeks and you have to pay shipping, but it is the best CS from any corporation.

So I have to say I’m very disappointed with leatherman. I returned my wave because the pivot just kept getting looser and I ordered a charge + instead. Well the charge arrived and it’s even worse than the wave. The pivots don’t move thankfully but all the outside tools (both blades, file and saw) all rub on the inside of the scale when you’re opening and closing them AND even worse than that both serrated and plain blade have major lock rock... so bad you can easily see it moving never mind feel it. So needless to say I’m hoping third time is the charm? I’ve ordered another charge + and if this one is bad too I give up.

I don’t get it. I have a skeletool and a micra that I’ve used for years and have been through hell and back and they’re both still rock solid and flawless other than scratches and patina.

Sorry to hear all this, TPE, but let's hope that this new one will be the one to keep; I think that the Wave/Charge platform is the best due to the compact but robust frames, the tools included, and ease of adjustment. Now, if they'd came with factory installed awl...

Well.. I would just like to say that getting a premium charge does mean they put in extra care. These are mass produced parts. Luck plays a major part in this. The blade rubs probably cannot be avoided due to the liner lock pushing upwards. The blade play is the one that irks me the most. Some people will say its "normal" but that's BS.. Its the bloody QC that's not doing their job.
