Hello gents, i want to ask if the below issue has appeared to any of you. I have knowledge of 2 cases in Romania. Apparently, the plier was used, some force was needed and it cracked, making one handle to close with minimal force without opening the plier (loke in the case of sticking plier head)
Both are Wave +, and i do not know how much force was put on the handle

I believe someone else here had a similar issue  but it was more than a year ago that it was reported I believe

I have never experienced this and I hope I never do :ahhh It would be a warranty issue for sure but still sucks :-\

It seems the quality of the steel dropped a bit with these waves+. I got one that went rogue two days after purchase (brand new). It happend when I was opening the can opener tool just to make sure it moves smooth after oiling. I had it replaced by the seller on that very same day. Romania also.

 I have only had that to happen on a couple of the LM Cores about 10 plus years ago :ahhh Never had a problem with any of the lock tabs on any of the other tools since  I hope it is just a random incident with that one but maybe not  :ahhh

Raoul, Naim, I hope that Warranty Services do you good, as it is an excellent tool; I've heard of only one case of cracked pliers stop, and one from an ST300's lock so, I'm guessing (really want to think) it's just three flukes from a batch. Good luck! :tu:

That's my hope also... I would say that the technical solution adopted by LM for these locking tabs is not the best one. Just for the sake of serviceability I would have chosen some kind of a pin to hold the tab (even a riveted one). There is always a trade off and I would have happily trade off the short longevity of a mild stainless pin for the ability to replace it myself in case of a failure. Anyway, I've already stressed the can opener tool on the replacement Wave+ just to make sure it holds on. So far so good. Cheers!

@Juan: Indeed, the warranty service worked like a charm; as I said, that very day I had the faulty Wave replaced by the seller and got home with a new one (a silver-black one this time, as the seller had no more silver-only, and although it was not my favourite colour combination it was better than returning home with an empty hand and wait several days for the replacement from the country importer/distributer). This silver-black gave me a little hard time to "break-it-in" for achieving a smooth move because I had to dismantle it  and use sandpaper on every tool and then brake cleaner and afterwards some ptfe wd40 to lube all the parts. Then I bought some threadlock (blue one) for pins but it will have to wait till the next mods are done (blade exchanger for saws and a chisel instead of serrated blade which will become a double bevel straight blade and will replace the original straight blade). For now I'm waiting for the 5.5 mm hss-cobalt drill bit to start the mods.

Great pic, Juan :like:

I am glad that the seller made it right for you, naim :tu: The 2 tone ones, I think, are rather nice :dd: and also, good luck with all the mods :tu: :like:

Yes it works great for me especially that I can remove the blade easily now all I need to do is change the serrated blade to make it UK legal
