Bought a Rambler today, might be a future gift for a friend, after being converted to Ti  [only if i don't keep it as is for me  :facepalm: :whistle: ]

Vic / Red ALOX / Pioneer - question =  What is deal with dated blade? ( 97 back tang stamp) special release/edition? LOOKS new / no box  ???

Vic / Silver ALOX / Classic - question = what is the name of these scales? , they LOOK like the Sterling Silver ,but with no markings , has a raised or applied shield , was it a special edition/release? ???

Vic / Silver ALOX / Classic - question = what is the name of these scales? , they LOOK like the Sterling Silver ,but with no markings , has a raised or applied shield , was it a special edition/release? ???

Year of production on tang stamp usually means that it is a knife issued/for issue to the Swiss Army. But with red alox scales and old cross, it could be a special run... Cmiiw

Yep, its the 97 ( Soldier ) dated blade in the old , but brand new looking , Old Cross Red alox scales that has we wondering  ??? :tu: ???

On the Farmer:
Either repaired or built with surplus '97 Soldier blades. It's a fact that Vic did this so not super uncommon but cool none the less. I have 98 and 99 Pioneers. Helps date them if the the knife is minty...beat up examples are more likely to have been repaired.
