This one!

It is one of them that is discounted at West Marine that I mentioned in the Deals section.  Only $9.77 plus tax, was $29.99 and the ONLY one they actually had in stock at the local store!  LOL

Nothing unique at all, but my first Alox and for $15 not bad.

No engraving, kinda wish it said "Larry" or something on it.

Didn't realize the 111's came in white. Love the age on that, great font for the name. Blue is super pretty. Black is all class and I can see that one being pretty valuable to different types of collectors. I'm just gettin into the bigger victorinox, great to see the white.

I am gonna carry this Spartan with white Plus scales for the month of August to see if it work in place of my usual Explorer Plus and to see if I can get by with a lighter EDC.  I am not 100% sure about the white scales though but it is only for a month!  :)

*reading about CH on wikipedia*  Happy belated!  I've been through Switzerland only once for under 24 hours. Coming there from smoggy Los Angeles, it looked so clean, bike paths and trees. In the lobby of the hotel there was a big display case of SAKs for sale (at tourist prices I'd never pay of course). Wish I had seen more of it than just a hotel. But what a hotel, crazy outerspace Star Trek type shower that was a cylinder in the middle of the hotel room, not in the actual bathroom. Seemed like everything I looked at was a marvel of engineering. The light switches, faucet, window hardware. Or maybe I was just at a crazy future hotel. I wanna go back for sure and this time look for awesome knives and watches and tools and so forth.

About Spartan vs. Explorer:
Explorer is my top EDC especially when travelling...but I occasionally like to experiment in minimalism as well. had a Tinker Small at hand today but had to grab the Explorer for the scissors.

A Custom 84mm Yeoman might be a nice combo of tools/weight. Or if somehow an Alumnus became available under my credit card limit.

One thing is for sure, I need some white scales in my collection. I like'em! They seem to be a nice boney/ivory type white. Only thing odd to me is the toothpick then looks like a rotting tooth in an otherwise healthy mouth next to the clean white scales.
MWDP's white one "Leica" (Atlas?) is really grabbin' me since I never see white in that size, I've come back to look at it a couple times.

Ok...darnit...can't resist...just went and bought this... SMEEN THE BEAN! My first whitescales.
