Long wait was rewarded, took 2 weeks to arrive. Paid 15€ + postages of this Soldier 08 ( stamped 16 on blade, so i guess its 2016)
Opening is really really smooth, my first OHO blade on Victorinox what really opens smoothly.

Close :) Cheese knife, was able to find new still. Plan to use cheese knife as fork (did not see use for fondue fork as some sort in knife already). And first 111mm so can see that size in action as well.

Yes first impressions better then expected. Used inline awl as fork so far (pioneer, swiza). Need to test with salami snacks etc still. And sure fire ant to cork screw so real camping knife.

Just found this one at a local seller nearby and decided to make it a birthday gift. Now I have 1,2 and 3 layer horticulture knives.   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I don’t really have a latest SAK to report.

But I have been seriously considering a Ranger. The Cybertool M is also tempting, since I do work in IT, but it’s even bigger than the Deluxe Tinker, which is pretty much my maximum for pocket carry in terms of weight.

So….   :dunno:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]  Ribbed alox Bantam. It is well used (especially the blade), but overall in good condition. Old style combo tool.

I am very pleased with it - the ribbed alox feels great in the hand - kind of suprising sensation - smooth and textured at the same time.
I am as well very pleased it has a keyring! Not usual for alox bantam.

We have 3 vehicles, mine, my wife’s, and a spare beater truck. I keep a set of keys for each one. On my vehicle I have a 2018 berry red alox classic to match my 2018 berry red pioneer edc. On the truck keys I have a black alox rambler that I kit-bashed from an alox mini champ and classic 5 years or so ago. On the key to my wife’s vehicle, I had a silver alox classic I got off eBay many years ago.

The silver classic has always bothered me as it came used with some serious dings in the scissor blades. I finally had enough and ordered a replacement. I found a somewhat reasonable price for the “Classic Colors” sweet berry alox classic.

It looks nice in person and to my eye it is very similar, if not the same as the 2018 berry red LEs, maybe just a hint brighter.

In the pics below, I show a group shot with the new classic and my 3 x 2018 models; the pioneer, cadet, ad classic. In the second group pic, I have it next to the 2018 cadet (since it’s alox is unworn) and a ~2008 farmer in the standard Vic red. The standard red is definitely a darker color than both berry flavors.

Nice ones Gustopher.  How about a photo of the black alox rambler that you kit-bashed together?    Maybe I can figure out what kit-bashing is if I see it.  Sounds like you made one out of two others, but I could be wrong.  Best wishes.  G

Hey G, I don’t have the rambler at hand at the moment, but here’s the thread where I documented the build. Looks the same now with more wear on the alox.

I read the thread about your work on the semi-Rambler and near-Classic.  Good work, and some good-looking results.  Bravo.
I also looked at the wooden bear knife belonging to Sos.  Good one.  I hadn't seen that one before.  Best wishes and happy holidays to awl of you. G
