Hi all,

Yep, another Brit here. Newly arrived and cutting my first posting teeth... :drink:

Me? Oh yeah..um.. ex RM with unhealthy (I say healthy but the missus disagrees  :pok:) fascination with multitools, knives and assorted very useful things. Hence I stagger round me farm with trousers that weigh 20 kilos and more kit on my belt than sodding batman.

Good to be here amongst fellow sufferers where I can be exposed to all the right treament!!  :multi: :gimme:

This unhealthy fascination with Multitools/knives/anything bladed is probably going to get a lot worse now! & oh yes, prepare to be tempted by more stuff on MT.O which will probably mean your tool belt getting even heavier & your wallet getting lighter! >:D :ahhh

Little more over me - Current carry is a Blast with a self built (poorly) Alox Solo Plus (Solo with awl). Had a Spirit (broke it on my tractor. long story  :o) and now have a small stable of assorted SAKs with a Leatherman E302, Gerber EAB and Channel lock 424 pliers along for the ride.

And yep pics to follow if anyone is interested.. :D

Gareth- I could have gone for Matilda but that would make me sound like a Robot War fan and an Aussie.... :ahhh

It is a quick guide to what not to do to a multitool without technical aid from those Mythbuster chappies.

I was seeding my cornfield earlier this year when the PTO pin on my Case tractor began working loose. Its around 7am, I'm a good 10min drive from home and I know the spare release pin for my sower is on the workshop table.

Ok no prob..I have more tactical solutions on my belt than a SWAT team. Jumps out of cab followed by dog and starts hunting for a way to secure the pin. Only option is to wedge the philips from my spirit into the pin socket so I can finish the field. Now this is a three handed job at the best of times. Now I get all relevant parts in to place. Jemmy in the philips and let go. Hey presto, spirit shoots out of the hitch hitting me in the chin. I swear. Dog hides under tractor. Now not allowing a stupid idea to get in the way of progress I resume my octopus like attempts to connect everything. Philips breaks off completely. I swear in seven languages. Dog jumps into cab. It starts to rain...... :rant:

Do I stop?   :think: No I grab the hammer and this time using the jaw of the spirit, beat it into to the hitch. Nothing comes loose. Feeling very chuffed I jump into cab and start sowing. In the rain. On turning the first end row, hitch comes loose, spirit snaps and shoots through left cab window. Dog jumps out of cab. I look over my shoulder at the remnants of a shiny vic multitool, get out of cab to look for dog muttering ' Shouldve used a swisstool'.

Sorry if it is horrifying/boring. I will wait here for the Multitool Social Services to come to take away the rest of my multitools.
