Stop biting them and buy one of these:(Image removed from quote.)Come on! This is a win-win! The perfect excuse to buy more tools!
(Image removed from quote.)The original serves its purpose well (John (GG) sent me one to play with ) but I think the new ones look much more useful.
We need a review. Who's going to buy one?
As someone who used to bite his nails I'm dismayed to see my 10 yo son bite his clean down... However, I know what a hard habit that can be to break. But, I'll tell you - if you've been a long-time biter and you can manage to lay off of it and grow them out they turn out to be very useful. You'll find yourself tapping them on table-tops and generally appreciating them. Plus, your fingers look a lot better with them grown to a reasonable length. Not like you need a reason to buy a new toy but maybe it would help to use one as a goal... once the nails get grown out (no biting for say 60 days, only trimming) you get to celebrate with a nice new knife!
I used to be a hardcore nail biter as a kid, but when I got my first SAK I actually stopped biting my right thumbnail- at least not as often, because that was the nail I needed to open the tools! Then when I was in high school I stopped biting them almost overnight when a girlfriend of mine commented that my fingers were gross. I pretty well had to agree and actually quit cold turkey, although I don't really think there was ever any actual decision to do it. I just did it.I actually had a nail file that I EDC'ed for a few years until I got my first Wenger with the nail file (Wenger Adventurer) and I pretty well used that exclusively. I prefer Wenger's nail file to the Victorinox file, and none of the others even come close. Some things are worth giving up your bad habits for. A SAK was mine!Def
Every man faces a challenge in life, and it's a measure of his ability to overcome adversity. I'm lucky, I got off easy! Def
I just trim the ol claws every now and then with my Swisstool Spirit scissors, the Victorinox Site even has that listed as a suggested use for them.Just keep the thumb nail a tad longer.Whats with all the nail biters here?
