Super cool   Now that LM itself is competing with their own Micra, SOG siezes this opportunity to drum up some sales  :salute:

It's not my tool of choice, I'm a pliers guy, but it is deffinetly a nifty little unit in a tight package.  I'm wondering why there are no gear covers though.  $20 is a good price, almost worth having just for the bathroom drawer, those toenails can get mighty fierce sometimes, needing coumpound leverage!

Oooh, yes, MTO engraved Crosscut.  I'd totally be up for that.  Maybe SOG will bring back the Crossgrip as well.

Travis (and the Multitool.org Store) are now an authorized SOG dealer, and things like this are very much a possibility.  If there's interest, I don't see why it coudn't happen.

I'm hoping not. :-\ SOG has switched some of their manufacturing to Taiwan also, and those items seem to be far better than the Chinese stuff.

I have to ask. What exactly is the point of compound leverage on a pair of scissors?

IMO, given the breakage of Powerlock pliers, I think it may make more sense actually to have it on the scissors.

I don't think it is strictly "necessary." I suspect the design was more of a marketing ploy on SOG's part, to keep the appearance and style similar to their other compound leverage tools.

I would agree with J-sews, but add that with the gears you have spreading power, thereby negating any locking of the scissors in sticky or difficult materials.  That or a really strong spring would be neccesary.  But mostly I think it's for looks and consistency.

Good point on the "spreading" feature Resaw :salute: I hadn't thought about that.

Try cutting the edge of a retail pack or a couple of layers of good canvas with a Micra.  Sometimes a little more jaw force would be appreciated.

Will there be a MT.O engraved tool or a group buy?

If there is enough interest, there very well could be.
