For sale Corvo Atacameño Chilean fighting knife.
Known as the Corvo Atacameño or "Pico del Condor", these have not been seen too often. This is a traditional shape that has been embraced for special military fighting from the earily border wars and remains prominent in the Special Forces logo to this day. This model was used in the 1960's-1970's. The knife hangs of the belt of the privates and corporals.
12.5 inches overall length with a 7.5 inch double-edged blade. Used and in good condition, some of the original mate finish is present with some wear. The blade is marked FAMAE (Fabrica y Maestranzas del Ejercito de Chile). Scabbard and blade are nicely Chilean marked. Composite handle has a hole provision for a short wrist lanyard. Scabbard is unique strong synthetic that clamps the blade inside and is open the entire bottom length for quick removal of the traditional shape. The plastic belt loop has a split at the top. It has a poly propolene wrist lanyard.
