Does anyone know if this tool is still made in the United States?

I just picked up a 450 multi-plier; On the blister pack was "Multi-tool assembled in USA of US & imported components."  Stamped on the tool is "Gerber U.S.A."  So at least parts of tool are still made in the US.

May be "imported components" is only a sheath? For example i have sheath for MP600, it made in Vietnam.
I apologize for my poor english...

I believe Bob/J-sews was told by Gerber that the MP400 & MP600 were made in the US.

Some parts are outsourced, so I guess it depends on what you define made in u.s. as.

Some parts are outsourced, so I guess it depends on what you define made in u.s. as.

Leatherman plier heads are made in Mexico. Lock releases, bit drivers, and phillips screwdrivers are being MIM'd in India. And we've got reports that many of the SOG parts are being made in Taiwan.

I think it is fairly common these days to obtain components from wherever in the world it makes the most sense to. :-\
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Thanks for the info all.  I have one that i bought some time ago and put the plain edge blade from another tool to replace the combo edge.  It seems a good trade-off size for utility.
