Pen or Sharpie
on: March 03, 2011, 04:09:51 PM
In the last couple of years or so I've become convinced of the usefullness of carrying some sort of writing implement. The problem was I kept going back and forth between a pen and a Sharpie. The pen is much better for writing checks and making little notes to myself while the Sharpie is much more adaptable to many writing surfaces. I have a bit of OCD so the last few weeks have been unnerving as I've gone back and forth, back and forth deciding which is truly deserving of becoming my EDC.

I was at an office Supply store yesterday and I saw it. http://www.usartsupply.com/Sharpie/Sharpie-Twin-Tip-Permanent-Marker.aspx

IT'S GOT A PEN AND A SHARPIE POINT. (btw I know it may not technically be a "pen". I'm referring to the ultra fine point) I can now write checks that are still capable of being read while at the same time I can write on just about every material I need to.

YAY!!!! DTH is a happy manchild.  :D :D

Of course, I wasn't lying about the OCD thing, now I can go back to obsessing about which multi-tool to carry, which cane to carry and whether I want to carry my cell phone in my left front pocket or right front pocket.

I totally agree  :tu:

I happened upon the Twin Tip Sharpies in a random shop for a ridiculously low price. I got a few packs; gave some out to guys on here and kept a pack for myself. Shame they never got them back again  :-\

Sometimes you just need a fine marker  :D

People still accept checks down there?  Wow.... the only thing we use them for up here nowadays is writing VOID on them before you give them to someone for a preauthorized paymant plan!

How about a Sharpie Pen?  It's an ultra-fine tip Sharpie.  Best of both worlds!

I do carry a Sharpie and a Zebra pen myself though one of these might be what I'm looking for. :tu:

I generally carry a pen I like to write with and a Sharpie - depends if I have a bag with me or not. If it's just pockets, it's a Space pen.

I do like a nice twin tip though :D

I love my 701 zebra pen, it's perfect for me at school, but I am never without a sharpie and a sharpie pen...they are fantastic for everyday.  Taking notes, it's the sharpie pen, for clinic and work (when i often don't have 2 hands and need a clicky) it's the Zebra 701.  I love Sharpies.  Haven't tried the dual tips though.  Might h ave to try that.

Both! Sharpie AND Pen! And usually a mechanical pencil.

(and maybe a china marker, paint pen, carpenters pencil - depends what hat I'm wearing that day :P )
