Lately I have been feeding a growing collection of knives and I was curious as to what other people's favorites were.

My favorite would probably be my Benchmade 950-1 Rift at the moment, though the Kulgera is growing on me.
I have a Spyderco Paramilitary enroute so I will have to see how that feels.
I am also hoping to get my hands on a mini-Skirmish.

Despite having other more expensive knives I do find myself going back to the FFG Delica though.

Anyway I just figured I would let this thread serve as a general list of what everyone favorite(EDC or not) folders are.

Although I don't get much chance to carry it anymore, my favorite folder is my Spydie Saver Salt.  Great all around knife.

I really like Spydies. I have a Military that I just don't carry due to its size. That is also part of the reason why I had to get a Paramilitary2, since its a bit smaller with a FFG S30V blade under 5oz.

I prefer tip up carry now, so its a bit more selective. Although my pending Lum collection will likely involve some tip down linerlocks.

I don't have any experience with Emerson, but I don't really care for tanto blades. I am actually looking towards blades with large deep bellies now. Thin grinds and deep belly for maximum slicing performance. I really have to get my hands on an Onslaught too.

In order of what gets used the most:

Spyderco Ladybug Hawkbill (VG-10 or H1)
SanRenMu 763
Leatherman E33L
Kerhaw Skyline

I list the Hawkbills first because if I have no other folding knife on me I'll have one of them hanging around my neck, otherwise the SanRenMu is the first pocket knife I pick up to do just about anything.

Good thread ! For me it's the CRK Sebbie and Mnandi , the Strider PT , The Emerson CQC7 and 8 , the Benchmade (Old Skool) AFCK , and 520 Presidio . and the ZT 301 and 200 . All the above in no particular order .

I'm pretty fond of my Byrd Meadowlark. Honestly, I don't need a "super steel" and you simply can't beat the value of Byrd knives.

My favorites are my:

CRKT Folding Razel--big, beefy, stout.  It cuts, scrapes, chisels and sharpens up easily.  The opening mechanism is super smooth--Excellent farm knife

CRKT Stubby folding Razel-- Like a high end box cutting knife with a scraping chiseling end.  It's small enough I can carry it at work

Spyderco Captain--Love to play with the opening mechanism.  It's an excellent knife with low profile.  Because of the stoutness of the Folding Razel, the Spydie doesn't get as much pocket time on the farm.  It's a little harder to get the secondary blade nicely sharp compared to the Razel as well.

I agree, I'm love my Byrd G10 Raven... it holds a good edge, the G10 is really grippy and the blade deploys fast.  It was my most EDC'd knife last year before I switch to smaller knives like the Skyline and Native.

Disregarding slipjoints and going by how much I actually carry them, rather than by how much I like to play and look at them, in no particular order:

•   Cold Steel Kudu (nice long blade, locks, very lightweight for its size, cheap, unusual), pocket
•   Sanrenmu 763, clip (which I actually disliked when I first saw it..) and 710, pocket
•   Ganzo 704, sheath

I have other locking knives that I like by Case, Buck (especially the 110), Cold Steel, various Chinese models, but they don’t get carried often.

Right now the Spyderco Stretch 2 is what I seem to favor. I will pocket my Sage 1 occasionally though.

the Spyder UKPK (cheap version) has been in my pocket for the last 2 weeks, and in this time has become my friend. Haven't cut anything with it in front of other people yet. It would be interesting to see if it really fulfills its purpose of not freaking non knife-people people out.

I have been meaning to get a UKPK for a while. I think I am going to hold out for the Ti version, since it would likely only be a dress knife for me.

Disregarding slipjoints and going by how much I actually carry them, rather than by how much I like to play and look at them, in no particular order:

Feel free to list knives that you don't carry but just like. You don't even have to just list knives you have. Feel free to list knives you would like to try out, new steels you haven't tested yet, crazy cool new locks, whatever interests you in the realm of knives.

Just got my Paramilitary in so I am excited to play with that for a bit. Gotta go open the package.

Although an older knife, my favorite folder that I own is my mint heavy al mar buzzard with yellow micarta
handles, frame and bolsters with finger grooves, lock back. I bought this knife brand new many years ago and when I bought this knife, I also bought my son his first knife, also al mar, I think it was a falcon with green micarta handles and he still has his mint. As old as these knives are, when you pick one up, there is no mistake
about the quality and fit and finish of them.  As far as a knife I would like to get, although big, I would like to try
a Kershaw Zero Tollerance and a Benchmade Skirmish. :D

I never had an Al Mar, but I have heard good things. I actually have a mini-skirmish coming to me sometime next week. I am just a bit apprehensive about getting blades with a recurve, since I don't know if I will be able to sharpen them myself at this time.

Having carried the Paramilitary a bit now, I would definitely consider it my go-to EDC knife. I love the way it fits my hand. I do have a Mini-Skirmish on the way though. Also have a Kulgera which may rotate with my 940 as a light carry blade. At least until I get an Emissary...

That's a good looking knife. I have a soft spot for sheepsfoot style blades, That must work quite well as a letter opener/pen knife, though it would also make a good light carry blade. Looks to be a slippie right?

Well, from ones I have... My favorite work horse is Opinel #8 carbon... And then Tenacious though it's tougher and overall better than Opi, it's just the way I like it...

What I don't have, and would really like to have is something from Zero Tolerance line... I just like the way they look...

I am still really taken by the Spyderco Captain :dd:

I've had a play with both the Kershaw Offset G10 and their ET. Really unique opening knives but a bit too big / scary for here  :-\

Realistically with UK knife laws my trusty Spyderco UKPK is currently my true favourite  :tu: Perhaps there is an advantage to the tight knife laws, keeps my spending under control  ::) Too much choice  :ahhh
