This is what I'm carrying today, except for the Fenix L1T, it has been replaced by an L1D.

Imco Neverfail trench lighter, circa 1926
keys
fauxton
Victorinox Rambler
Fenix L1D
Dopp front pocket getaway (wallet)
Fisher bullet pen
Victorinox Farmer
coin holder

Why am I carrying these things?  Well--so I can open stuff, illuminate stuff, cut stuff, fix stuff, set stuff on fire, write stuff down, and pay for stuff.  :D

No pliers *eek* :ahhh

That's a nice lighter, I've been thinking of getting one.  Does it's weird shape bother you when you're carrying it?  It doesn't have the soft lines like a Zippo..

My current EDC (not all of which fits into my pockets)

Sturdy ColourHide notebook (in Manly Blue) - For taking notes.

Girobit hexbit ratcheting screwdriver (70-something $AU from Snap-On tools) - For screwdrivering. handle only contains half a dozen bits (currently 2 Flatheads and #1, #2, #3 phillips. Considering ditching both flatheads (as Multis have enough to cover most bases) and have a 4mm and 2.5mm Allen bit)

Cricket Lighter (best disposable lighter on the market)

Leatherman PST (note blood on south handle and blade from tree related shenanagins)

Somethingorother Concrete stamped folding knife w/bottle opener. Had since earliest memory. - Knife rarely used, bottle opener excellent.

Nokia 5140 (I think?) "Sports" phone. Last survivor of Three identical phones bought earlier this year (They just don't make rugged phones!)

Brass Zippo lighter (Mostly for need of prolonged burns. Sees little use compared to Cricket)

Cheap velcro wallet

Leather wallet.

SD with keys (In sky blue for confident men)

Clicky cheap Parker pen. (Blue ink)

Eclipse mints (err...minty?)

Super Snips for Hard wire cutting up to serious $*#@off hard wire. (That's a scientific measurement of hardness, just sos you know)

English made locking blade with Shackle Key (new addition. Replaced bulkier old British Army Knife, which was made redundant by Plier based multitools with Can openers)

Multi w/Corkscrew (perhaps soon to be retired in favour of PST)

Shifter (Opens up to 38.1mm! (That's 1.5 inches for those of you playing in Yankeetown)

*****Not Pictured*****
Sunscreen/cream.
More keys.
Razor sharp wit.
USB key/card/Stick memory thing.

What do you mean? I don't have a hacksaw, or vicegrips, or a torch, any medicines, tire levers, rope, adhesive, spare pair of clean underwear, portable defibrillator

You do know the more tools a man has, the less he knows how to use them?

In any case, if I'm ever in a plane crash, it was probably my portable defibrillator what done caused it.

Oh yes.  Probably one of my top 5 favorite SAKs.  I wouldn't carry it often if I didn't have the Rambler to go with it though.

Yeah, I only carry my Spirit in the evenings at home and on the weekends.  I get by with the SAK in my pocket and a Cybertool 34 at work.

The Imco Neverfail does get a little uncomfortable at times, and I usually carry it in a small velvet slipcase.  Lately though, I just carry an Imco Super Triplex instead.  It is a very pocketable lighter.  Plus, I don't have to worry about losing it like I do the old Neverfail.

I usually carry a SAK Super Tinker.  The straight and phillips screw drivers are essential in addition to the knife and scissors which I use a lot.  A reamer/awl comes in so handy at times.  I now have a Champion Plus and it is a bit more bulky in the pocket for EDC but I probably will carry it more.  I have ordered a Wenger S557 which seems to have a lot of functionality to bulk ratio.  For EDC that functionality to bulk ratio seems to be what makes the EDC.  When I am not working I will carry a Gerber multi-tool on my belt but don't usually when I go to work.

What are your thoughts on that Silva lighter?  I am looking for a durable jet flame that won't crap out on me when it gets wet or overheats a bit.

S'alright :) Holds a bit more gas than a Delta (so not much ;)) and it lights first time everytime. It's also half the price, at least this side of the pond. It doesn't feel the most robust thing in the world, but I haven't broken it yet. Notice the 'yet' there... After Christmas I'll probably relegate it to the man-bag and replace it with one of these though; http://www.heinnie.com/Lighters/Windmill/Windmill-Delta-II-Lighter/p-101-279-2346/

Mostly because I like orange :D That's assuming I can bring myself to pay over thirty quid for a lighter... :o

That is a fair bit of cash, isn't it?  Maybe I'll keep looking too....

I have a cheap copy of the Helios Delta:

I like the feel of it, and I can only imagine the real one is better.  Of course, as a non smoker I likely won't use it that often, but it's one of those things that it's hard to get by without when you need it.

Apparently the genuine ones aren't that special, and are best suited to smokers rather than 'bushcraft' activities. I've never tried one myself though, I'm just hoping that the second generation ones have sorted any faults.

It's one of those eternal quests that will never end; the search for the 'best' lighter, pocket knife, bag... Heaven forbid if I ever find it - what will I do then? Jigsaw puzzles? cross stitch?! Even worse - sport?!  :o

Better put my EDC multitool in too I suppose, carried in the MaxP;

Nice stuff.  Is that a Gerber Inifinity Ultra clip on your P2D?  That's a nice setup--I like the ability to use a light as a headlamp on a cap brim if need be.

I was knackered before I got to the river, so felt quite safe :D
