Nice stuff. Is that a Gerber Inifinity Ultra clip on your P2D? That's a nice setup--I like the ability to use a light as a headlamp on a cap brim if need be.

That would probably fit my P1D then? Where can you get them from?

It fits the P2D, P3D & L2D, so I can't see why it wouldn't fit yours. I suppose you could ask Heinnies about a spare clip, or just buy a Gerber

I use mine on my bike keys as it's more of a back-up than an EDC torch.

Time to put together a new EDC! (A purpose Built EDC even, rather than other ones I've had over the past which generally start with a single SAK, then evolve over the months as things are added or removed by arbitrary decision or due to misplacing a favourite, making a new purchase, or what have you)

I like to be prepared for the usual events, but I'm also something of a minimalist (to a degree), and easily get annoyed when my pants start swinging like church bells due to all the gear packed into them.

Suggestions?!

I am able to carry more gear comfortably by wearing a vest with pockets. There are many different styles. This takes the weight off pants.

I have thin nylon vests, Carhartt work vests, and others. The short, thin vests fit best underneath jackets. The thick work vests work better as an outer layer than an inner layer.

Though the prices and inventory vary weekly, I saved 50% by purchasing these 2 Carhartt vests from Sierra Trading Post:

I've considered a vest, two problems being -
It ain't chilly here.
I have yet to find one with pockets styled discreetly, rather, once loaded, they tend to make me look like Mrs Michelin Man.

It's still a possibility, if I ever find one I like.

I'm off to the outdoorsy store today to look for inspiration/holes in my wallet.

Not quite for me though - I don't carry a gun, nor do I possess any great desire to drab myself in Americana.

The Concealed Carry Outfitters Eagle struck me initially as carrying a tampon, but I guess the artist imagined it to be a bullet.

-Finding a bag is harder than I thought!
What does the world have against cotton/wool/leather/hemp or other natural materials?

Looking at mini-multis to pair with a vic Classic.

For Def's sanity, I'll go check the reviews at the main site - but I'll ask here too -
any thoughts on the Micra/Squirt scissors? I cut a bit of light rope, cable ties, maybe even light foliage - are these likely to stand up to the task?
(I wish I knew how to get my hands on a powercut)

While the LM XE6 seems to have everything you could want in a compact multi, it costs more than a Swisstool, making the purchase hard to justify

While I'm rambling, the LM Juice line seem to have a bit more SAK in their blood than other offerings.

Here's what I've been toting around this week.

Keys with Vic classic: I have the Vic classic because I always need scissors for something and sometimes the multi I am carrying doesn't have them.

I'm carrying the MPT and the SteelEdge tool to compare to the Blast. I like to see how far we've come.

The D-Mini and ZebraLight handle all my illumination needs. D-Mini has the throw for long range and the ZebraLight is great for short range and reading in the car.

Lighters, pen, sharpie, bandana and paper: All pretty self explanatory, I like to be able to have these on my person at all times.

Tasman Salt; I recently started carrying this again and have found a new love for it. Seems like I didn't get the hang of the hawkbill blade the first time I carried it, I get it now.

Phone: So I can holler. It also has GPS, pretty neat!

Maxpedition wallet: I've added a few things to this that make it more useful. Inside is a 1"x1" mirror, 3 feet of duct tape wrapped around an old saver card, a Zip-Loc bag, 2 safety pins, two rubber bands and a hair tie.

I also EDC my camera, but no pictures of that (because it's pink

).

If you want to go ahead and get that MPT I can PM you a dealer I found that has 2 in stock at 27.95$ each.

I like the hawkbill, it took some time to get used to but I think I've figured it out. The Tasman Salt is a nice thin package that cuts really really well. Hawkbills are fun EDC knives since they cut so much differently than the typical blade profile. It feels much more controllable to me than a straight edge blade. That said, if I had to buy it again I would get the serrated version, the plain edge is kind of a bear to sharpen and really requires a stone with a relief to sharpen with.

A good buddy just gave me a Paracord bracelet...about 10' of Paracord... that I've been wearing every day. The rest of my EDC is my CRKT M21-14, an IMCO Super Triplex lighter, my G-Shock MTG930DA-8V watch, and on my carabiner is a Fenix L0D Q4 and a 512MB USB stick. In my main vehicle in my bugout bag I carry a Mag 3-D w/LED upgrade, sleeping bag, flint fire starter(forget the brand) with cotton balls soaked in p/jelly, compass, spare D-cell batteries, knit hat and gloves. If I take the truck for long rides I get the bugout bag from the car.

The MPT is a butterfly opening Gerber tool created to fulfill a US military contract. In the picture above it's the one sticking out from under the phone.
