on: December 01, 2007, 08:25:21 PM
Hello,

Anyone can recommend a very good, compact, light, durable, cool ballpoint for EDC ?

Something slim and small I guess ...

To company my new Leatherman Juice :)

PS: I know that I can buy any cheap ballpoint and put it in my jacket, and buy another one when it is gone or broken. But that's not the "spirit" of a gadget :)

Thanks.

The other day I left my Fisher in my jeans pocket and it went through a complete wash cycle and 90mins in a tumble dryer and the thing still works.  They are pretty indestructable.

I left a Mead notebook in my pocket once, but it wasn't as indestructible as the Fisher.  :twak:

I support the Fisher though, as well.

By the way, one of my favorite stories tells about how much time and money that America spent to get a pen that worked in space's zero gravity.

The Russians? They used a pencil.  :P

I carry and recommend a Zebra F-301 compact ballpoint pen.  It has a hole in the top for mounting to a split ring.  Bought it at an Office Max store (in USA).

I EDC a Bic SoftFeel Med. Black
$2 from your local news agent or stationery supplier

You can not use it as a lever, spike, tent peg, counterweight, short support strut, or lubricate a timed vault to open sooner - However, it is clicky.

Clicky clicky clicky clicky clicky clicky clicky.

+1 on the Fisher Bullet.  I love mine.

+1 on getting anything from EDCDepot too- Marc is a diamond guy to deal with, and if he's got it, you can be assured it's not crap!  Plus, there's that discount for Multitool.org members that's pretty hard to ignore!

I agree with the other guys comments on the Fisher pens and the Zebra Compact. Really nice small pens.

And another vote for the Bullet space pen. The only thing I don't like is that the clip is (too easily) removable.

I've got one of the original ultra smooth ones, that garenteed to wiggle out of any pocket or pouch known to man, within seconds ::) :D

This http://www.heinnie.com/Pens/Fisher-Space-Pens/Fisher-Space-Pen-Police-Pro-Zero-Gravity/p-290-291-514/ would be a nice one, if it didn't have 'Police Pro' written up the side in big letters  ::)
