I looked this up, I think its an eastern bluebird. I like birds in the wild, but hate the ones outside my apartment which start their obnoxious noisemaking at 3:30 AM for some ungodly reason and go until 9-10 PM. Had to use some serious zoom so its not as sharp as it should be:

That's a bright looking bird BB. We don't really get any wild birds that colourful over here - you have to go to zoos to see them!
I used to come here a lot.

This was from a preserve near me where I got some of the other tree & reflected water shots from, there was a fantastic yellow and black bird that wouldnt stay still for a pic and a bushy tailed brown fox that I also missed.

We'll go on an one-day hike tomorrow to a nearby alpine lake (2100m elevation) called  the "Dragonlake" (Δρακόλιμνη). I'll only have my cellphone with me to takes shots but hopefully one of my mates will bring his SLR along so (blessings of the weather gods) we might have some nice pics by tomorrow night. :D

The top picture is from Betwys-y-Coed, Wales.

Middle picture is Lake Buttermere, Lake District.

Third picture is from Mt Snowdon.

I should have guessed the Betwys-y-Coed and Snowdon shots really - obvious now you've pointed it out! I assumed they were all from the same place and the middle one threw me I think!

So, did you take the train up to the summit of Snowdon, walk it, or climb it?

Gotcha. We camped in the Llanberis Pass last August, sort of opposite where the path car park starts. I have some pictures on here (this thread I think) of Cwm Idal - just around the corner from Llanberis.

In fact, they're here: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,3062.msg252129.html#msg252129

From Carnegie lake in Princeton. I believe after 1/2 hour of research this is a Great Blue Heron:

Just got back to civilization. It was a ~10 hour hike with the last couple of hours being the most difficult (1200m altitude descend via a quite slippery slope and some snow). My knees feel like they won't bend for the next couple of days... :D I'll try to upload some pics tomorrow... :tu:
