I just got mine in the mail. I love this tool. I held it up to all of the other ones. It is almost identical in size to the Pulse.
The sheath is even worse than the Blast's one? How the mighty have fallen. Most of us know the fantastic quality of the LM sheaths for the old school tools; PST, Pulse, Supertool etc. those sheaths are a joy to own and I'm truly saddened to hear the the standards are getting even worse.

Sad but true. I was shocked at the low quality of the sheath. I have always defended the Blast sheath, because I have used them for years and, yes, they wear out, but they aren't as bad as people make them out to be. The Rebar sheath might as well be made of lunchmeat, that's what it feels like.

I wish that LM would come to it's senses and contract Eric to make their sheaths.

Can anyone that owns the rebar with the craptastic leather sheath post a pic of it for me?I am definitely going to buy one of these as soon as I see them in my local stores, but I was kind of wondering what kind of sheath was included first. What style of nylon sheath is included? Thanks much.
Aww, no date codes in the handles. (Image removed from quote.)
My Stainless one has 0312 in one handle and I can make out a 0 in both BO handles.
I just received a stainless and BO Rebar from Travis today.

Maybe I've just overlooked it, but I can't find the date codes in my Rebar; the QC heads for the castings, yes, but no date codes.

Did you try to fit the Rebar pliers to the Surge? Did it fit without modding the safety's, being a smaller plier head than the ST300.

..leaving date stamps off is a sad news - but I can see that it means one procedure less on production line (saves some $)

There are a couple of Leatherman Maintenance tools scattered across the world among MTO members. They were kindly donated by a member who used to do LM warranty repairs.
Oh... thank you for the info. Any idea what can I use instead for Rebar? So far I used PST + Squirt combo to disassemble old-style SuperTool, PST and PST II, but these had knurled screws fully accessible while Rebar has handles kind of bulged around them (not sure how to say it properly in English). Any tips?
