Shame on you. You shouldn't take advantage of good companies with good warranties. I'll be watching you :p
No it was toward capt . It's a love hate joke around thing. Lol.

Glad you had good result from Gerber. My recent experience in the UK wasn't as great unfortunately.I had a problem with my MP700 Urban Legend, which with the right spare part would have been a very easy repair (for either me or them), but no repair or parts were offered. Instead they wanted to exchange my high RRP US made MP700 with the lower RRP Chinese made Evo or equivalent The tone of voice asking how old the tool was on the phone wasn't too encouraging either - it was almost a "well, what do you expect" tone with the tool being discontinued. Direct contact was also made with the US HQ for Gerber thanks to the great folk here at MTo, but this didn't bear any fruit either which was a shame. It is also a shame that Gerber's URL does not let anyone over here access their US site, but is diverted to a UK site which prohibits (or makes it more hassle) to try and contact HQ directly to discuss issues and try to find a workable solution.I've found another route round the problem myself thankfully, but I was left feeling somewhat unsupported over here in the UK by Gerber (or at least by their UK contingent). I'll shortly have THREE 700's on their way to me, and I'll be carrying out my own running repairs as required from the spare tools. I really like the tool, but I'll certainly be hesitant about buying other new Gerber gear in future UNLESS either I feel the item will run for many years (such as the 400 & 600), OR I start hearing about great support on these shores particularly on models that are not in current circulation. People in the UK typically have to pay more for Gerber products (and indeed many other products) than US customers, and I feel it's only fair that they should receive the same level of support as the customers paying cheaper prices on US soil.I wish I knew about all this before I bought my Flik ... but at least I know now. I'm sure I would have had much better response from Vic, LM & Wenger (not so sure about SOG - all I ever had was the runaround from them too)Many thanks once again to the guys here who offered assistance with this issue - you know who you are
Wow I would be a bit mad about the whole situation. I would be writing Gerber a E-Mail explaining how you were treated and how your future purchases will be based on your experience.
Oh, and sorry if I put a downer on your thread BTW
