Just found two interesting Wenger catalogs: they are the official Wenger catalogs for Germany for 2012 and 2013.
Wenger always had a different website for Germany, and while almost all the knives were the same as other European countries, all the catalog numbers were different.
These catalogs are very important for the research work I had been doing about the Patagonian Expedition Race series, which I'll implement on the wiki, but first will post here.
Expect to see some small differences which I'm sure not everybody did notice.
Interesting to see (oh, well, actually not to see), in those catalogs, was the missing Evowood Pear.
So it seems it was specifically made for (the distribution by) Herbertz, as it apperas only in its 2013 catalog (available in the wiki).
Another nice picture I wanted to post here, is a direct reference to the SUI1 name of the Alinghi model, from the 2012 catalog.
I knew that it came from the boat name, but I think it is nice to see it actually printed on the boat sail.

jcfiguet you da man.   Tu la "hommes".

Your Wenger Classic 66 with the wood scales is one the coolest Swiss army knives on the planet.  I bow down to it COOL.

My Classic 66 pales in comparision.

Been wanting Wenger examples with an inline flat phillips and a universal wrench. Finally snagged  a Cyclist and a LL Bean Swiss Sportsman off the bay for cheap.  Pix when they finally arrive.

Not quite sure what you mean by a 1908 model - Is that when they moved from wooden to fibre handles?

However I have one of the old 100mm 'Soldiers' with this stamp.
It does not have any other markings/tang stamps eg Waffenkontrolle, Year Stamp, P stamp etc etc

Well, this stamp was one of the first stamp of "Coutellerie Suisse" (the name before Wenger). When "Coutellerie Suisse" became "Wenger", the new society used this stamp from time to time from 1895's to 1940's sometimes with "Wenger" or "Wenger Tahara" or "Wenger Delémont", etc.
Coutellerie Suisse used this stamp alone or with "Coutellerie Suisse".

Model 1908 is the model of swiss army knives between 1908 to 1950 (see http://www.couteaux-du-soldat-suisse.ch/J01/index.php/en/ to have more informations about swiss soldier's knives)

I'm curious because it's the first time I see this stamp (alone) on this model of knife and I would like to see if a date is printed or not on the other face of the blade. This case is very interesting.

Did you by this knife in Europe ?

Sorry, but no it's not : 1901 variant has a blade like 1890 model. The defference between 1901 model and 1890 model is only handles : Ebony or black oak for 1890 models and fibers for 1901 models.

You can also find fibers handles on 1908 models an 1951 models.

This is the other sides of the three knives.

As you can see, there is no stamp on the back of the "three faces" knife.

Yep - Came from the mother country - ie La Suisse!
Definitely no other markings - I double checked - And definitely a 100mm
- But I don't know enough about handle, tool variations etc to be more specific than that!

Aha - Just seen PTR's second post - Look like we have the same/very similar knife!

Hey JCF - Thanks also for the great link - I had never come across that site before - Although I have bought a knife from Robert M :)
Will have a good look later today :)

As you can see, there is no stamp on the back of the "three faces" knife.

Thanks a lot !

My analyse :

1°) Rare and expensive !  Probably a civilian version of a soldier knife 1950's (carbon steel). Victorinox and Wenger produced civilian versions of soldier knives with a few small differences to avoid confusion (no Waffenkontrole on scales or no date stamp or stainless steel blade, etc.) always with something less or something more.

2°) Common, 1940 as indicated

3°) Very rare, never referenced (as far as I know)... Certainly one of the last soldier knife produced under the brand "Coutellerie Suisse" just before the company name changed to "Wenger & Co" in 1908... Very interesting.

Who know this "knife" ?

I have never seen it before...

It's a 85 mm Wenger without logo, with only 1 layer, none micro-serrated scisors (like Victorinox)...
probably manufactured between 1976 and 1990
Verry strange !

The spring is very strong (never seen on a 85 mm Wenger)...

Might be a mod, could we get a closeup of the peening on the pins.

I have a 1.02.03 Standard and the scissors are not serrated. The "no backtools" scales could come from a Diplomat or Apprentice.

Would be not a bad option to add scissors to your EDC if you had something like a Rebar as a MT.

I'd say mod, the backside pins look like home pinned. Not sure about the non serrated scissors though.

Interesting.
I think that the removal of the serrations from the scissors could be a mod as well.

My dad has a 65mm Wenger with no serration on the scissors, so there are two. Not necessarily a mod...

Will take a picture if I remember, next time I'm there.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Perhaps the very earliest (1972 or so) springless scissors were not serrated.  I have a Monarch from about then with no serrations on the scissors.

Hello,
Yes of course, but on this Monarch scisors are before 1973 with spring like Victorinox, not with integrated spring.
I have never seen scisors (after 1973) with integrated spring not serrated on Wenger knives...

Interesting.
I think that the removal of the serrations from the scissors could be a mod as well.

I think I probably should have expressed myself better.
I was not referring to the old style Wenger scissors (see attachment).
These, as far as I know, were NOT serrated.
I was referring to the newer type, with the integrated spring.
These, as far as I know, were ONLY serrated.

Ok I see now that jcfiguet  already pointed this, while I was typing

Here's mine.  This knife was purchased off EBAY about a year ago for about $34.  So it certainly could have been modified.  However,  if the scissors were filed, whomever did a machine shop quality job.

The reason I alluded to 1972 is because I saw a magazine ad showing the then, new style scissors, dated that year.  At least that's what I believe I remember.  Field & Stream oe maybe Boys Life.
