Sanrenmu 710 discontinued???

I just wanted to post in the Christmas thread and offer a spare Sanrenmu 710 but out of a hunch I checked Focalprice if they still had them in stock. Nothing under both SKU-s they had them listed under. Strange, I thought, let's check eBay. Only one listing for the SS one from an US seller (33 in stock) at $10.95 with $7.45 ($2.65 to the US). That's more than twice as much than I was used to paying. I checked Exduct. None were on sale and the normal listing was $11.98 plus shipping (8 in stock). Sale price was $4.98). There was a note in red saying "it's disappear in china market.". PANIC, :ahhh

I checked a few other sites that carried them and all say Out of stock.

So get them while you still can, it's a great knife to have and will be going up in price as availability diminishes. I'll keep my extra and have to find something else to put in the Christmas bin. The two I have will have to do. I hope it's just temporary, but prepare for the worst.

It is a good thing I have plenty of them...

And to think I was just giving them away to friends for free...

A few months ago Exduct had about 250 of them on special for $4.98 and not many people rushed to buy them, so I would have expected them to have had plenty of stock left.

It will be surprising if they stop making that knife, considering its popularity. Personally, I prefer the 763.
Unless the remaining 710s will now be rebadged for Case xx

The western resellers still have some old stock and the seller on edcsource seems to be the same one as on eBay. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a chinese seller that has them in stock. (except exduct who is down to 5). And that's the place these western resellers got their stock from. $:-\$

The same thing happened with the 718, it was on their website for years after it was discontinued. I searched for it for about a year until I got one from Sharpdogs private collection/(runs edcDepot).

It's so biZzare. It's by far one of their most popular models. I wonder if they'll release one with G10 scales.
