Kershaw knives CS

I suppose this is probably more suited to the feedback section, but as it is knife manufacturer specific and I want the most exposure as possible, I thought I'd post this thread here.

A while back I noticed that I had a part missing on my Kershaw Blackout and started this thread here http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,24114.msg441271.html#msg441271 about it.  Well I eventually got round to emailing Kershaw's customer service department explaining that I had this part missing and asked if they were able to help me out.  On top of this, I live in the UK so thought that would add complications.  A couple of hours later I recieved an email from a very helpful member of staff saying how they would send me the part out for free and that they would even cover the postage to me here in the UK.  This I thought was great so I gave them my details and waited eagerly for, what I was expecting to be, a package including a screw and a small cup like part.

Well 2 weeks later I recieved my package and I was dead chuffed.  Not only did I receive the parts I wanted, but they also gave me the following;

Another set of the 2 parts I was missing,
2x Pocket clips
2x Sets of pocket clip screws
2x Pivot screws
2x Pivot bolts
2x Speedsafe springs
Full set of internal screws
2x Blade bushes
1x Thumb stud
1x Thumb stud screw

All for absolutely nothing and covered under warranty.

I was so chuffed and impressed by this.  They didn't have to do that, but they were commited to making sure their product had the parts it needed and had anything else that it could possibly need to make sure it lasted a very long time.

Fantastic job Kershaw.  Not only have you made me one happy user, but you have got me looking into your brand for future purchases.  It's these touches that make all the difference.
I'm back!!

Told ya they'd send out a full menagerie of parts.  I think Kershaw figures that if you have one part missing or broken, the knife is old enough that other bits are going to wear out and shipping once is cheaper than shipping ten times at the same cost each time.

I'm also pleased that Kershaw actually trusts their customers to do stuff like this themselves rather than just give the bog standard "send it in, we don't send out parts".  CRKT is the only other knife company I know of that has CS of this level.

And God help you if you ever need help from SOG's CS.

I really love to read stories like this one. I've always liked my Kershaw blade, and this just makes me want to get another.

Well ... not this alone. But it certainly makes resisting the urge more difficult.

Kershaw's CS is the best in business period, too bad their design (especially pocket clips) tend to be on the too funky side for me.

Benner you may have pushed me over the edge with this one.  I've heard a retailer near here has some great deals on some Kershaw stock.  I don't need a new knife right now (am I allowed to post that here?), but I'll probably buy one, you know, just to show my support for Kershaw and their wonderful CS.

Kershaw's customer service is the best I've ever dealt with. I had to get a new spring for my Scallion. I contacted them inquiring about buying one, and they sent a new one right out, no questions asked, and FAST! Great to see a company that stands behind their products that way.

That is GREAT to hear  8) 8).

I have a black Leek that is missing it's pocket clip & I had wondered how I would go getting a replacement. My Chive's sliding lock/fastener is brocken.
I might just send them a email  8) 8)

My son broke the tip off the blade of his Blur while he was prying something in Iraq.  I emailed Kershaw and asked them how much it would cost to fix it since the damage was caused by abuse.  They promptly replied that it was covered by the warranty and to send it in.

He's back in the USA, but hasn't sent it in because he doesn't want to be without it.

I may forward this thread to Kershaw just to show them how much their good reputation is respected.  Good CS like this does make all the difference for me.

Next time I buy a new knife I'm definitely going to be looking at Kershaw after reading this.

I purchased a skyline and stripped out a clip screw. I emailed Kershaw and ended up with a bunch of spare clips and screws. Great service.

I was afraid of doing that to my Skyline, but now I know I can adjust and use with confidence.
