Beautiful  :gimme:

How often do you get asked to sell the things you've made?

I'd take that one off you in a flash  :tu:

Here's a long 4 bight turks head knot lanyard, 109 leads 4 bights, made with black and tan 1.4mm cord over a paracord core.  The turks head part of the lanyard is about 2 ft long, using over 60 feet of 1.4mm black and tan cord...  The turks head knot was tied around a rifle cleaning rod as a mandrel.

(Image removed from quote.)

That really is a work of art...
it makes my lanyard look pathetic.  :-\

I did make an error on that one, missed an over at a crossing, and could have fixed it, but decided to leave it, to remind me to pay attention to my knotting while watching the TV.  >:(  I can't see selling it, as I've put more hours into it(too many) than any single other knotting project I've done, so I may end up using it as a wallet lanyard, even though it be an empty wallet ...

I use to occasionally sell some of my knot work, but rarely do so anymore.  I got away from doing that because it was getting me burned out on my hobby.  I'm content with looking for knotty things in books and online to make, trying new things, sharing ideas, and encouraging folks to give knot tying a try for themselves.  :D

I've learned enough about knot work to know there's so much more that I don't know still to learn, and without practice, it's easy to forget more than half of what I do know. :ahhh

SD,

I noticed that the black cord inner structure has lanyard knots at both ends that terminate into loops. How does one make that happen? Where is the cut end hidden?

SD,

I noticed that the black cord inner structure has lanyard knots at both ends that terminate into loops. How does one make that happen? Where is the cut end hidden?

That can be done a couple of ways, but in this instance, the loop and knot were done at the center of the length of cord, both ends pulled through the turks head knot, around the swivel clip/snap hook, then tied another lanyard knot pulling the whole lanyard through the center of it.  The end strands come out alongside the core paracord strands, which where tucked inside the turks head knot, then trimmed.

The other way is to have the two strands coming from a lanyard knot, pull one strand back a few turns through the knot and follow it with the other, creating the loop on the other end.  Example shown in my two bight turks head lanyard video, and another example on shown on khww.net.

Some more...

How about a snake on your keys....

and friends...

or a dragonfly..

and friends..

I made a mistake with one of the dog leads. I messed the burn end up, so cut it short to remake the end. That left me with a little bit of 4 cord weave spare. So I made a large keyfob with it.......

By looking at your work guys I can only say one thing: I suck at lanyards! :bnghd:

I can only make one (1, uno, eins) knot. But it's enough, at least for me.

:tu: (to you, of course)

That's how I started out, there's loads of info on the net, it just takes a little time to learn. Once you know a few basic knots you can try putting them together to make all sorts of ideas.

Take my little snake above as an example. Knot one is a lanyard knot, followed by a few snake knots (funny eh!), followed by a few cobra knots (get it?) and last a king cobra knot or two. Just three/four of the common knots.

That's the thing about these threads, if you want to know how to make something just ask, we're all here to help.

Does anyone have any good online international sources for paracord except rotokid? I've ordered from him a couple of times but packages from him are so awefully slow. I don't know if it's the shipping method or him not shipping immediately, but everything takes 3 times as long to arrive.

I guess it kinda depends were you are in the world.

I'm in the UK, I've used http://www.supplycaptain.com who are based in theUS but ship worldwide.

I also use http://www.thebushcraftstore.co.uk/ as they are onlt 30 mins drive away, not sure if they ship outside the UK?

A 1/8" by 2" firesteel is tucked into the single strand of gutted camo green paracord with a Celtic button knot on one end, knotted over with 2mm round leather in a 17 lead 4 bight turks head knot, added a copper colored bead, and finished the end with a scaffold knot...
