Looking good Cptnodegard. I really like the bi coloured snake knots, the two colours always look good with that knot.

Where did you get those skulls?

Those snakes are really cool  8) :tu:

I can do the cobra weave but the rattlesnake knot was destroying me last night  :ahhh :ahhh

I have mastered the paracord men, so simple but so cool :D The kids love them. In addition to the one below I have a camo one and a pink and white one; they have since been kidnapped :D

I think they would make good swaps in geocaches  :tu:

Watch out for the GITD eyes tonight.....twin snakes alive!!

It's funny how little things can get you thinking of new projects to make, part of the trade with Neil was this very useful SAK, so for some reason I wanted a small Monkeys Fist Lanyard...

Thankyou Neil, without the SAK I would never have thought about making these!

Made this using Stormdrane's instructions. While not as good as the original, it does the job for me. I needed something to make my DIY water bottle carabiner-compatible and this definitely does that. Borrowing the carabiner from my GPSr until I can buy another one

Made a more...symmetrical sleeve (compared to my first try, yesterday) from thicker paracord, with a new hook and a lanyard

I have finally got some paracord but aargghhh it's doing my head in trying to do that rattlesnake key fob. It can't really be this hard can it?

Was bored so I experimented with a couple of neck lanyards. The one with dual colors turned out to be too stiff and unformfortable, so in the end I went with the simple single cord paracord loop with a knot, not fancy stuff. It's camo colored so it's till nice looking. The black one is store bought

with the dual color ones if you gutted the cord they might have been a bit less stiff :)

In my experience it's not necessarily that much less stiff, simply because the cobra stitches will be tighter when doing so and you end up having a rounder cord of the same actual thickness. But really it was very stiff so I doubt it would have helped much, the single string is so much more comfortable (and easy to make)

I have allways wanted to tie a Monkeys Fist but could never do it until i found animated knots I made a jig like out of a wire close hanger. Now i can tie one any time i want. Disregard if you allready know about site at times i can be a little slow.  :D http://www.animatedknots.com/monkeysfist/index.php?Categ=decorative&LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com

For those that did not know I have been geocaching for a few months now  :D I've found about 50ish caches and have decided to hide my own  :tu:

What's this got to do with paracord? you say. Well after thinking what trade items to put in my cache I decided to make use of my new skill, tactical man knitting  :D

Generally there is a First To Find [FTF] prize within your cache. This can range from a dollar bill to keys to a new car [yes apparently so  :o]. Some frown on this as it shouldn't be the driving force. The trades are mostly aimed at the kids anyway :)

I have decided to put the paracord bracelet as the FTF prize, I might only put 3 men in there too. Don't want to go overboard.

Those cheap fauxton lights from Dealextreme make good geocache trade items too :)

Thanks Dave just ordered two 10pks of them today and a 20pk of the button compasses  :tu:

Let's see how long they take :D First time ordering with them; previously I used bestofferbuy.com who tended to be about two weeks which is not too bad :) My last order took about two months IIRC  :o  Chinese New Year  ::)

A woven & half-hitched paracord pouch, filled with 1/2" marbles that I use for small monkey's fist and turks head knots.  The pouch also serves to carry spare slingshot ammo.

Here's an instruction sheet I made for tying the pouch.  *Note, if using for a can koozie, a larger pen or marker should be used when making the coils, so that it'll be loose enough when finished to get a can in and out of it.

I usually tie things while watching TV, so I don't watch the clock, but it shouldn't take more than an hour or two. :)

I don't get how you can use one long piece of cord - when I made my water bottle sleeve I cut the cord into smaller pieces and just used a needle and thread to sow it together as I needed more. Threading meters upon meters of cord for each sting was a pain, and it always twirled the cord

Oh, nice pouch btw!

It can be aggravating working with one long cord, especially at the start of a project, but the length does get shorter as you work and the pace quickens.  And if you needed the cord for something else, you'd still have the longer length to work with if you remove it.   :D

I just finished tying a "simple" Turk's head onto my flashlight, and boy was it tough!!!  :ahhh
It took my about 20 minutes just to wrap my head around it, and the better part of an hour to tie it.

I wasn't using paracord because it's much too thick, and tracking all of that small cord going around and around (and around and around) a cylindrical object just boggles the mind.

By the way, How do you Knot Gurus get rid of the ends of the cord on a turks head?

Chuck Norris' preferred iron supplement is rebar.

Has anyone ever made a paracord bit holder? Or have any suggestions what knots would be best? Need to make a holder for some 4mm bits  :ahhh
