As beautiful as ti lights are, I can't ever see myself buying one.  It's just such a poor heat conductor, I'd constantly live in fear I'd fry the emitter.

If it's been properly designed, then there's no need to worry.

Ti's big Plus it can take an absolute flogging and still look pretty. For an EDC that's pretty valuable - and most EDC lights aren't heavily driven.

Buy one. Hold it, caress it. Then buy lots more and discover all your Al lights have dust on them :D

I'll add a caveat - don't buy a Ti twisty light if you intend to switch it on and off a lot, as (almost) all Ti/Ti threads have some degree of roughness due to galling, especially when under tension from the spring and battery.

I have a couple of Ti twisties I purchased before I found this out (and yes, I did the polishing and twisting thing thousands of times, added special "Ti" grease, still didn't like the feel).

Fenix E01 and E05 :tu: E11 will be next.

I have a Fenix E01. It rocks for a small flashlight, way better than I thought it would be. Still, there are cheaper, likely more versatile options out there IMHO. I don't use mine very much.

I picked up an oh-so-classic Streamlight Stylus Pro a few weeks back. I like it, I'm just having trouble integrating it into my loadout however. It doesn't sit so well in the pocket of my jeans because it's so long. I like not noticing my tools are on me. I'm looking into the miniature version as we speak..

Yep, nice little light. I have a few and use one regularly. Put an Eveready L91 battery (primary lithium, not rechargeable) in it and it will still be ready to use in 5 years time.  I do suggest annual checks to make sure it will work when you need it.

Ti does have an extra pull factor me too!

Is it only direct drive on high when you use lithiums?

It has direct drive for all modes on a 3.7 volt cell. For lithiums and alkalines it has direct drive for high mode only.

This is a newer version with the main body threads interacting with brass threads from the main head heatsink, very smooth. I have the clicky versiob but smooth threads are always nice;D

I agree, of all my lights, the ones with Brass or Copper threads have the smoothest thread action, followed by Stainless steel, then Aluminium, with Ti to Ti threads trailing a fair distance behind.

Received an Olight S10 Baton in the mail today, looking forward to playing with it after dark.  I *like* the side switch and the tailcap magnet, and the pocket clip is a good one too.  Must add a paracord lanyard...  :D

The Fenix E15 has been my primary keychain EDC for over a year, and I need to spend more time with my Maratac Copper so it'll hurry up and develop a nice patina.   8)

It rocks!  :D  I like the mode sequence, switching up/down thru low/med/high by holding down the side button(glows-in-the dark), moonlight mode/strobe, excellent runtimes(although I'll have to see how they match up to manufacturers claims), good pocket clip(I'll use it to attach to hat brim for hands free use), and the tailcap magnet works great too.

The retail cost is a bit more than I like to spend on a pocket light, but I got a good deal on this one off ebay.  They have them in titanium too, polished and bead blast finishes, but those cost double what I paid for mine.  It can run off rechargeable RCR123 batteries as well, so that's a savings bonus on long term use...8)

It is a great little light. The "hold for moonlight" UI is an excellent option. It means I can leave High mode memorised for normal use, and hold the switch at nighttime to not blind myself.

Thanks for that... it's on my kinda-sorta want list too!

The RCR123 thing is a must for me, and I think the UI sounds interesting... off to see what else I can obsessively find out about it now! :D

Silva Ninox

I already had the original version which is tucked away in a kit somewhere, but decided to get the latest version which offers 110lm in three settings over the original 70lm with two settings (I think  )

Certainly my favourite headlamp, and I love the storage solution on them  ;)

I've had this one a few weeks now but can't recall posting about it.

http://www.ringautomotive.co.uk/product_detail.asp?prod=2526

Not a very promising looking light I grant you, but at only £2.50 from TK Maxx I didn't think I was taking a huge gamble. :D  30 lumen seems about right, the LED has a blue tint and has lots of artefacts in the beam.  However for a AA light with a tail switch this is a very compact little light and the 30 lumen is just fine for close up work.  It also takes a Maglite pocket clip comfortably.

Now lives in my desk-tidy at work and has seen a lot more use that I would have thought.

Please excuse me if I've already mentioned this, but my next torch purchase is going to be a Spark ST6-460nw headlamp.  :)  Really looking forward to getting one.

My Zebralight SC52 arrived a few days ago, I can see it will replace the SC51 that is currently my go-to hand held light in my campervan.

I'm not far off that problem already! :D

Got quite a few non-Ti lights which I use often like the Lumapower IncenDio, Thrunight Catapault and a fancy triple XP-G in a Solarforce L2P... but then there was Ti.... ::)

Jetbeam TC-R1 & TC-R2
Quark Mini 123
Steve Ku Volere
Olight S10

...and now this new Eagletac... I do try and stop myself, and even sold one once :D

My biggest problem seems to be with small EDC lights - the smallest being the Quantum DD which is very happy on my keys :)
