Who's working Christmas?
on: December 25, 2011, 10:26:54 PM
I was to have today off as I've moved to afternoon shift M-F weekends off but I volunteered to work cause I have no one to really spend time with as yesterday was family day so why not make money. My roomy was scheduled to work and she is in the gate shack as I'm a rover but after a round I sit with gate shack officer for a little, so were making $ together. :tu: :D

I like the OT wages for sure.

There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

I work for a cheap company so only time and a half. No holiday pay either cause I'm in OT. Oh well time and a half is better then straight time. I'm just thankful to have a job doing something I like and working with some great folks. :tu:

Edit: friend just called looks like a couple of beers after work. :tu: Thank goodness I did work since she's in Ohio and I cross over into Ohio right up the road from here. :D

I'm doing legal paperwork all day.  Not exactly *work* as I'm at home, but still 6-8 hours of typing and paperwork.

I have always thought why not work and make money. I'm a workaholic though so maybe I'm just weird.

I had to work today (my days off are Friday and Saturday), but I won't get any holiday until tomorrow when Christmas is recognized (by the company).  The same will be true for New Years,  At least my company pays double time and a half for the holiday (but you have to work your scheduled day before the holiday, the scheduled day after the holiday and the actual holiday to get it.  Otherwise, it's just time and a half).

Today has been soooo boring. Mine is on holiday so the only people here is me and the other guard. I've had fun playing in the mud with the truck though. :D

I worked Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving and pretty much all other holidays for years.  I've put in my time, and now I find I don't really feel much for the holidays.  Since I'm used to working all day (or night!) I'm not really familiar with what I should be feeling or doing.
