Taking Endura Apart

Is it hard to take a spyderco endura apart steal a scale from another and put back together. I'm wanting to do a scale as a surprise for someone. I'm going to make them an orange and purple endura.

Uh... those FRN backlock spydies are a major PITA to take apart and put back together.  You can do it but it really, really ain't easy.

I did not watch the video, but there is a sneaky trick for getting the back lock into place which I assume is shown in the vid.  If you don't do it right, its darn near impossible to get the knife back together.  But if you know the trick, its a piece of cake to get the back lock reinstalled.  I learned the hard way.

I have not swapped scales on Enduras, but I did it with Delicas in order to get a black FFG.  The secondary result was the world's only known blue Delica SE.

I don't recall taking apart any back locks, but I do take apart my triage every once in a while to clean it. Shouldn't be to bad, as long as you remember where everything goes.

The first time I took the triage apart I hadn't realized that there was a spring holding the detent for the strap cutter. I wound up launching the little bearing across the room.
