Nokia lumia? Anyone tried one?
on: February 08, 2012, 11:28:39 PM
I have my upgrade due next month and despite having other apple touchscreen products I just don't fancy an iPhone never have done for some reason. At the moment I have a blackberry bold 9780 but have been looking at nokia's new offerings. Pretty sweet looking I think. Has anyone had a play? Or got any other suggestions?

Not played with the Lumia, but had a play with an HTC Windows phone. Wasn't keen on it.

I have an iPhone 4s and an Android based Motorola Defy, and I can use both intuitively, but the HTC just felt odd.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Honestly, if you are already running with other Mac products it really only makes sense to go with the iPhone.  The real upside to Apple is that everything works seamlessly with all other products, and tossing an Android in the mix just complicates things.  In many cases Macs are not only programmed to work with other Mac products, they are programmed to work against others.

I'm sure many Mac users are going to argue with that statement, but it's kind of pointless to get a different phone when you are already set up with Apple.

Lumia seems promising from Nokia. I'll be more interested to see what their partnership with Microsoft brings to the table with the Windows 8 platform...
