Yes I spoke to John. I'm not sure I want aluminum scales but I am thinking about them. He sells on his own and bladehq also sells them.

Do any Spydeco modders to HAIII scales?  That would be pretty darn durable for aluminum scales.

Do any Spydeco modders to HAIII scales?  That would be pretty darn durable for aluminum scales.

Hard Anodising type 3 = HA III

Its just a really nice way to finish off custom cut aluminum.  Makes it really really scratch resistant.  I just figured someone must make them for spydies, since they are do popular.

I have a custom Scibeer made HAIII SAK and I can attest to how tough the coating is.  A few years ago a bunch of us met up in Freeport Maine and I was showing this mod to Doug Dillman, the owner of Freeport Knife Shop.  I told him it was virtually indestructible so he whipped out a quarter and tried to gouge it.  He was really putting effort into it and all that happened was that the checkering on the scale was chipping away at the quarter.
