Anyone have the orange Spyderco dodo on Pre-Order

I've had it pre ordered for months now and there estimating delivery this month.

Only problem what in the world will I ever use it for?

They are GREAT cutters. I wish I hadn't sold my original serrated blue one. I have an orange one that SHOULD have shipped today. Hopefully will be here by Saturday. It is a great knife. Just give it a chance.

Most dealers that are on good terms directly with Spyderco should have received shipping notices this week. I got lucky and 5 showed up at a shop close to me and I was one of the premees... I just got it! It is pretty nice, haven't really gotten to play with it much and it is brand new tight still....

I like spyderco and even have some of their weirder models, but dodo is a bit too much out there for me. Price is a bit high too.

On paper I've always thought the Dodo looked cool. But in real life most of my knives
are users and I look at this knife and realize if I'm putting it to task that tip is going to
start to take on a different shape down the road and I think that would bother me as
it looks so good out of the box. I can see it also being a bit of a PITA to sharpen as
well.

Hey Ash, Did you get yours? Are you happy with it?

On mine the ball lock was hanging up when trying to move it to close the blade. I took it apart and used 600 grit sandpaper to make a mini ramp for the ball and now I can close it one handed...

Nope I never got mine. Couldn't come up with the cash before they were sold out. Knife center had more on pre-order then they could fill anyways.

Neat, but it seems that it should only be used on a Spyderco knife upgrade of some sort.

Yeah, I guess not. I'm not too familiar with Spyderco, but that's what I thought of when I saw it.
