I had Milo at the vets yesterday, he's not been well for a few days and was getting worried.  He gave him a couple of injections to give him a boost, cleaned out of his anal glands, and told me to up his dosage of his pain meds for the next 2 days just in case.

Last night he was much better. He ate the full bowl of chicken and rice I made for him instead of picking at it like he has been doing, and pooped properly around midnight. Hopefully he is on the mend but will watch him close over the weekend. Only 3 weeks until his 16th birthday.

The look on his face when getting his anal glands done never fails to make me chuckle, right up until the smell makes me gag. Blech, its nasty.

good to hear it all helped.  Happily Molly and her glands seem to muddle along with the occasional extra stinky/slimy poo.

Hopefully that will get your pup(well, elderly pup) back up and playing. :)

I agree when my staffy had her glands done she started growling. But then you watched her face change she seemed to melt it was hilarious. I hope your boy is better soon. I give my girl chicken and rice and it always does the trick.

I sure hope Rosie is over the seizures for now and is feeling well soon! Our last pup had them and it always scared the smurf out of us. :-[

I got home from work and he is like his old self again, but with the hurt paw in the air. The vet took xrays and said nothing is broken. Whewww! :woohoo:
They said he should be back to walking/running/playing normally again in a week or two. :)
It is funny. They gave him Mobic for pain, the same thing I take everyday. My 30mg is $5 a month(because of insurance of course). Geordi's 0.5mg was $49. ::)
Oh well. Worth every penny to help the fur baby.

Glad to hear it! Now to the challenge to keep a young puppy somewhat calm for two weeks  :rofl:

We had to do that when our dog, Luna, was about 6 months old. She had a bone growth or something on her front left shoulder. The vet had to remove it surgically. The poor thing could not run or play after that for almost a month  :oops:
