I noticed this last night while I was browsing their site... I'm not that familiar with PocketToolX (or OPMTs in general), but these existing designs look cool.  It will be interesting to see what Leatherman and PocketToolX can create if they decide to collaborate on future designs.

Honestly I hope they keep more or less separate entities. Pocket Tool X has some neat designs and ideas and I'd hate to see them become "Leatherman Lite."

From Leatherman

Quote
Greetings Leatherman, LED Lenser and now PocketToolX fans!
That’s right; Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. has just acquired PocketToolX (PTX), the unique single-piece multi-tool company. The PTX products will retain their unique styling and single-piece design, but they will be sold under the Leatherman® name and can be found on our Leatherman website. There will be three models to start (existing designs from PTX) and many more to come.

I hope this means more adjustable wrench tools!

I'm very curious to see how it goes, cause I still don't understand why LM bought Led Lenser of all the manufacturers there's on the market ..

Never mind me Jie, I'm just not a Led Lenser fan.. i've owned different lights from them, but all traded away as didn't do a thing for me. I'll rather carry a LD10 than any of Lensers.. :)

Yeah, they are definitely not the best. But on the other hand I can't think of any other company that suit the profile. SF and Mag are way too big for them to take over, many other brands don't actually design/make anything, and you know what many Americans' (and Canadians/Europeans to slightly lower degree) attitude towards Chinese brand/companies so that's not going to work either.

So apparently LM managed to set up a meeting between pockettoolx and LED lenser engineers, the Mako and Piranha now makes 25 and 13 lumens respectively.  :D
