Lapel pins

Ok so I know they have these little backings on them to stop them from falling off, but is there a more secure way to attach them??? Mine keep falling off my EDC bag.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Have you tried a dab of glue?  I would suggest something like Goop that will be easy to remove the excess or all of it if you decide to remove the pin later on.

That's an idea. Maybe a blob inside one of those butterfly catches. I almost lost my LM pin. Luckily I found it.

One way would be to make a ring with a grub screw in the side. This would lock the ring to the protuding pin, securing it. The smallest usable grub screw is probably an M3 x 3mm with a 1.5mm hex drive so the ring would have to be 4.5mm tall by 8mm diameter with a 1.5mm diameter hole through the centre.

I'm not sure it would give a firm enough hold on the pin but it should be better than the butterfly catches supplied as standard.
Pictures of most of my work can be found on my Facebook Page.

Hmmm so I guess that's called a set screw here in the US. I'll definitely give this a try.

At work , several years ago, one of the lads came up with using small drill-stop collars. Works great! He thought of obtaining a patent but... too late......

I would make them myself but, that's a great deal. Thanks for the link!

Bought and sorted. These things are perfect. I tried one on an old pin I didn't use. Even pliers and moderate pulling didn't make them come loose. :tu:

We call those backings "damnits" in the military community because that's what you say when they fall off. The glue thing is what I used
