They ask for a flashlight so I hand them my 4sevens minix 123. He laughs and says smurf that small thing. Well it lit up the sink better then any of those big smurfing lights they use. Ignorance is such an awesome thing. )

I love that.  I often encounter folks at work that have the big D cell lights, the giant 6V battery lights or the ones that come in tool sets that use the same battery as the drill and they kind of scoff at my tiny little Photon Proton.... until it fires off a beam significantly brighter than what they are using!

I was just down visiting my in-laws, and my father-in-law was under the kitchen sink (we were replacing the faucets). He asked for his flashlight; one of those old, crappy $5 plastic ones. I trotted off to get him my Preon 1. He eyed it dubiously, and complained how dinky it was. I turned it on. He was not impressed. Then I turned it to medium. He's about to argue that his is still brighter. Then i turn it to high.

He's like 'That's one of them new LED lights, huh?'.

I love doing that , back in the 90's , pre LED's I used to do it with my old Surefire Incan P6 .

I still blow a few minds , and burn a few retinas of Maglight users with 1xCR123 lights .

I bought a new Dewalt 12v lithium kit and it came with the led light.. They did something right with it.. Really damn bright and great beam depth, only one setting but one great little light.. The 12v batt only lasts 2hr max but I like it.

I got my uncle a Maratac AAA for Christmas because he always carries a flashlight with him, or what is supposed to be a flashlight any way. When he opened the gift, he acted happy, but his true delight came when we put a battery in and put his dollar-tree special in the drawer! He could not fathom not wearing a belt pouch/holster to carry a significant light!

I enjoy showing off my ITP A3 EOS with a 10440 (4.2v li-ion) battery. It produces a crazy amount of light for something the size of my little finger. 

Admittedly I can't run it on high for more than a few minutes for fear of burning out the LED, but med has enough light for most practical close-up purposes, and it can run on that setting for quite a while.

I am amazed hen I turn on my 6 D Cell Mag Light and then my Mag Light XL-50..which for me is pretty Hi Tech Flashlighery and really don't notice much difference at all in the brightness and distance...Although the 6 Cell does have the advantage in other areas..If I would ever get one of those Suefires that my Bother raves about I would probably be like the Caveman who discovered Fire..
