Wanted to change my name a couple of times, but the wisdom from head Head Turd Polisher showed me the error of that idea. Still...

My original username was exactly the same as another user, except with 35 at the end.  I didn't know this when I created my account, so I had it changed to this.

I think a vote should be in order.  Create a poll with a list of names you like, and we can vote!

Failed business project.  I had lost the email and website and shortened the name down numerically (was originaly thirtyfivestudio).  Then used the 35studio name as a logon for some older forums and then kept on using it when joining newer forums.

Same, it seemed like a "safe name" that I kept using on one forum after another. Did not know it that so long ago I would still been here.

'Smaug' (pronounced 'smowg') was the name of the clever-but-arrogant dragon from The Hobbit. Those (fools) who have not read the book, will have a chance to see him in the upcoming movie. ;)

Smaug had a lot of dialogue in the book, so hopefully Peter Jackson is taking the time between cranking out the movies to actually read it...

I think he did the Hobbit the same way he did LotR as far as filming them all at once iirc

It was a tongue in cheek comment on how he changed The Hobbit to try and stretch it out to make a few extra bucks.... suggesting that if he read the book then maybe the second one wouldn't be such a disappointment.

But I'll bet you knew that and were just taking the wind out of a perfectly good complaint...

Read the book, trust me. Tolkien wrote it for his son when he was a boy, so it is easy reading. The Lord of the Rings drags on at times, but not The Hobbit.

Grant, have you seen The Hobbit yet? I read the reviews and felt like Jackson was stretching it out needlessly too. (and there is probably some truth to it) But he pulled in a lot more material from other Tolkien sources; background and such, and I thought it really worked. It actually offers something to the people who read the book already, unlike LoTR.

I saw an advance screening of it in IMAX 3D before it opened.

I was not impressed.  To me it was like a fine Armani suit with shoddy patches all over it to make it fit a bigger person.  The stuff they added in to stretch it out didn't seem to really blend with the rest of the story and was painfully obvious.
