If you've ever held a gerber machete, it isnt surprising. I have an extreme dislike for them, especially the bear branded junk. Want a good cheap machete that works, buy a condor. The zombies wont know what hit them. A good rule of thumb when buying a knife or blade is to know what steel its made out of. If it doesnt say, its probably junk.

to Gerber's credit at least they have acknowledged the issue and are doing something about it. Not good that it's happened in the first place, but better than them pretending it's not a problem.
so hard to find a good machete these days...
